How good are Kirby Carpet Shampoo Systems/Portable Shampooers at cleaning carpets?

shampooer I've used them over the years but yeah they're definitely not as thorough as a water extraction. I mean I know they're supposed to like crystalize and take the dirt with them but It's like would you put soap onto a surface and not remove it? I think it's better than nothing but it's...

    What Are These Antique Attachments?

Huh..... Unlikely but it reminds me of a compressed air/ venturi vacuum. That handle grip makes me think it may be a possibility perhaps utilizing the exhaust of the unit to clean in addition to the suction?

Does anyone have, or even ever heard of this???

I've seen one. Years ago when i was still working part time at the vacuum shop, we had one of those come in a lot of trade ins from a door to door dealer unfortunately it was in poor mechanical shape and i didn't have the skill at the time to restore it so it ended up being pitched

What do you do about vacuums you're partial about?

Collecting Isn't a logical hobby, If something grabs my interest I just go for it ya know? If you find space is an issue you can always scale back by looking at what you do actually use and what you feel more attached to.

Homemade Kirby Shampoo mix I remember using.

Hmm..... I don't like the idea of applying dish soap to carpet in any amount. It's something that's made to be rinsed away. I know Kirby soap will leave some residue but I think the vast majority of it would crystalize as that's what it's intended to do.

    Final year-vac store clean out

Belt Side Bracket Hey Jack just though I'd pass this along, Someone designed a 3-d printed mount, if you don't have a 3d printer you could seek out a business that will do the print for you. https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:2522408

WTB: Royal Powercast hose or hose end

Bought a Powercast and I'd like a hose for it. A standalone hose is fine even a machine end is fine. If you have a spare one let me know. TIA

Bought a Host, and an experiment

Hmm Commercial dirt is a beast of it's own lots of grit and very fine debris from all the traffic. It's why I turn the entryway rugs over and use the vacuum to beat the grit out a few times a year. that very fine dust clogs the F+G bags very very quickly. You wouldn't think they'd hold that...

Bought a Host, and an experiment

additions Oh I won't be using that auxiliary outlet the host runs at like 6.5 amps and the backpacks run around 10-11 As for the shoe it seems like these machines haven't changed much I don't THINK the space between the brushes has changed.

Bought a Host, and an experiment

Test an idea Well when you're looking at modifying a unit you first want to make sure it's worth the time and effort. I ran that test to see if they really are able to dislodge embedded dirt before putting in the time and money. Very nice Luxlife! My plan was just to use a backpack vacuum with...

Bought a Host, and an experiment

I've been looking for a certified pile brush for a while and I almost had one but the seller informed me of a crushed spot on the brush, which according to what i've read would require another $140 in parts. So I decided to buy this host machine figuring I can use it for dry pile lifting as...

Bag Change after 8 and 1/2 Months

Horray for Hepa Hepa bags are a wonderful thing and i'll put them in any machine that can take them. Keeps your airflow for longer, with less dust escaping into your vacuum.

    Won the 90s vacuum lottery!!!

Very nice! The lift off or plus machines were pretty good performers

    What's everyone's opinion on Orecks?

Respectable. I think too many collectors are hard on them. They aren't the best vacuums out there but I'd take even the classic 4 amp models over most bagless machines. Now the 21 style machines are a slightly different story they're pretty good I think. I'd say the same of the...

    Ghetto Vacuum Contraptions?

Another abomination! Here's a bagless Kirby setup I cobbled together. I still have it but haven't made use of it since shooting the video. I even got a spare G6 2000 handle to use with it.

    Ghetto Vacuum Contraptions?

Another! About 10 years ago I mated this Kirby to an NSS pig using a 2.5? shop vac hose and a kirby fill tube. I remember it having more "cling" on the carpet but it's hard to say if performance was actually boosted.

    SEBO Balance A1

Hmm... It definitely doesn't *seem* to be up to their usual standards. That said I think I like it's concept better than like Miele's bagless offerings it at least has a proper cyclonic system, a removable battery and brushroll. I can certainly understand why they'd want to get into such a...

    Ghetto Vacuum Contraptions?

Found it! Years ago I was trying to find a good solution to clean theater seats and decided to try a little lux II, unfortunately it ended up clogging up pretty quickly, so i decided to pair it with the backpack vacuum. Due to the inlet coming off at an angle attaching the hose to that...
