    strange brush roll tonight i put the strange brush roll in one of my kirby carpet nozzles & it worked perfect.don't know the maker or any info about it but it works well in a 500 series kirby.the MYSTERY continues.

    sometimes it's just necessary to look at your kirbys for the heck of it.these are the two i tore apart & repacked the bearings on.very nice i think !

    kirby again after being new to tearing down my kirby to the armature i learned a valuable lesson today.watch closley how the washers are placed in the front bearing plate when removing the bearing. put one in backwards & it did not like that.only ran it for a few seconds then tore it down again...

    i've worked on kirbys for many years but never did i tear one down to pull the armature out.today i did.was a lot easier than i expected.front bearing & rear bearing was kinda dry.repacked them & now my DS-50 is much happier.how can i tell ??? she hums like she should.

    i found out something about the kirby classic III that i did not know.it's the way the motor housing is made that you can not see the motor shaft.only the cooling fan.can't see the hole to insert an awl or something to hold the shaft from turning while trying to remove the suction fan.i wanted...

    so here is what i did to defeat the oval emptor bag install on my classic III.i threw the bag in the dryer to heat up the elastic & with one pull it went right on with ease.PROBLEM SOLVED ! i now again love my kirby classic III !

    classic III shakeout bag install the round emptors are easier to put on than the oval ones.i can almost get it but not yet.might try the mini-emptor & see if that works on my classic III.so far it's just been grunt & pull.i must overcome this problem.

    does anyone have any tricks of the trade on getting a classic III bag on an oval emptor.is it just sheer strength ? the one i just bought had a nasty smell and is sorta worn out.i have a nice one i'm trying to put on.

    i walk the line movie there's a kirby sitting in one of the rooms.also karen black in some movie vacuuming on the stairs with a kirby.sound was fake.
