Do central vacuums actually deep-clean carpets as good as a portable?

@ajr2993 I'm not sure where you get your numbers from? To my knowledge nobody has a laboratory capable of testing CFM accurately. There are a couple people who have measured very wrong with some homemade air boxes for YouTube entertainment. But I wouldn't put any weight behind them. To answer...

Do central vacuums loose suction and airflow through the piping?

Generally a central vacuum is installed for the size house that's in. The bigger the house the larger the volume of pipe the more powerful the unit. Especially when compared to a portable vacuum even a central vacuum in a very large house has significantly more power. Here's an example from...

    The END of Sears, finally.

@gottahaveahoove You still have them on the East Coast? Those stores have been closed west of the Mississippi for years. They just finished demolishing the last building here in Colorado thankfully it was an eyesore for a long time sitting abandoned for years.

Large debris monster of a vacuum.

It's been years since I had a chance to play with one of these I forgot what a monster the Lindhaus LS38 is in terms of pickup. Maneuverability-wise it's agile & feels like A Miele Art.

    Zenghsing Riccar 2000

I have a early Zenghsing made Riccar 2000 I've been unable to really find out it's age there's no date stamp on the motor or date Wheels. The serial number is also very different from the newer Riccar serial numbers. I've also seen panasonics that look exactly like this as well. Was wondering...

    Numatic imitator by Vacmaster

@blackheart You're not the first person to suggest putting a weight in it. Apparently it helps a lot. But that hose is so stiff and mounted pretty high that it's going to leave a bad taste and a lot of consumers mouths. Personally I think I'd rather have a Bissell zing just on maneuverability...
