What's the American equivalent to Henry, popularity wise?

@electromatik My understanding in Canada that canisters and Central Vacuums the most popular type of vacuum cleaners. Especially with how much grit they have to vacuum off their hard surfaces in Winter uprights kind of take a second seat over there. But if there's a study that says otherwise I'm...

    Cirrus Unit Made By Tacony

My understanding was that everybody was getting that vacuum from the same Taiwanese manufacturer that they had originally worked with. Really the only difference is who could sell it and what color with which name. I'm much prefer these vacuums to their current lineup of Riccar. But the quality...

    The first USA Miele

I thought you might all enjoy the intimate look inside the first US Miele. Fun conversation I really think back then it had no advantage over its competitors other than possibly filtration and maybe a step up in quality over the Kenmore at the time. But really was it any better then the Eureka...

    Kirby bearings after 2009

I've noticed this over the years but haven't seen it discussed much. Sometime in late 2009 Kirby changed their motor bearing OEM or model. After this time it became not that unusual to see a machine come in only a couple years old needing bearings. Here's a little short video showing such a machine.

What's the American equivalent to Henry, popularity wise?

@ilovehoovers I would say in the home Market we see Miele C1/s2000 vacuum cleaner is quite a bit. In the commercial Market over here it's really not that uncommon to see Numatic. I've had multiple come in with them in the past few months alone. With the launch of the 160 compact a few years ago...

What brand New with box Vacuums do you have?

@suckolux The carriage assembly is famous for breaking on those DC 18s. One of the shops I worked at in the past used to carry them by the case. It's not really whether you're rough on it it's just the design and the lack of quality material. Again this is what makes it so cool to see in a...

What brand New with box Vacuums do you have?

Oh man that's super cool to have a New Old stock Dyson DC 18! Especially considering how fragile they were. I have a whole closet full of vacuum cleaner boxes filled to the ceiling.

The horrible truth about central vacuum systems and why every non-Canadian millennial hates them.

@dysonman1 TOM that guy's just an unfunny troll. @beagledad is right we need to have the admin come in here. But it's vacuum Land there is no admin on any sort of regular basis. This is one of the reasons the user base is in the low double digits right now.

Either this is a troll or somebody incredibly ignorant.

    Has Miele changed hands?

No they haven't changed hands. However there's been a lot of internal corporate shuffle here in the United States With cash on hand it took me 4 months to become a dealer. They still have half of their product out of stock because of problems in Germany with lockdowns. That being said I gave...

Love These New Cordless Power Heads!

That Miz Perkins video is excellent at showing the differences. Personally I'm partial to the EBK360DC the swivel neck height adjustment and quick disconnect with your foot kind of put it A step above the rest. I have the Lindhuas as well in the jury is still out.

I don't see this ending well

@hoover300 there commercial lineups pretty decent. The backpack in particular is pretty rugged. You have to remember TTI owns several power tool companies they have a good idea of what they're doing. Yes that one Hoover is an Oreck XL21 with a big battery. But for the person who wants an...

    Miele Complete C3 Dead

@spacey3 Most of these had 7 to 10-year warranties which means it would be covered by a dealer. That being said if it doesn't turn on that could be all sorts of different problems the motor being the least likely of them. If the motor is bad a red light will turn on and flash. If none of the...

WOW....polishing a Kirby is a pain this arse.

Low quality aluminum like what kirbys are made out of is absolutely a pain to work with! It would also seem the alloy changes once you get to the later generation series. Seems to get softer so I'm not sure what they added to it but it's not great. I personally like to start with the belt...
