    Meanwhile, a decade later..........

Adam......... One of these days you and I may very well meet at the conventions either at Tom's or the VCCC convention. After visiting the museum, we spent several days at a car show in Lebanon, MO and on Sunday visited a long time member of the VCCC. We all agreed that we enjoyed the...

    Hoover Spa Day

Thanks Rick! It is a labor of love. I've significantly reduced my collection so it is far more manageable and easier to keep, "pristine".

    Meanwhile, a decade later..........

Two former VCCC past-presidents, (and their spouses), Tom Gasko and myself, Charlie Watrous, had a long awaited reunion at Tom's Vacuum Museum in St. James, Missouri, yesterday, July 20th. Three hours flew by as we reminisced about years and days in the past. About past conventions, members...

    Hoover Spa Day

Oh my John, that could be taken as a bit salacious! However, the 69 does fit in ones hand very comfortably with it's cushion grip and the balance is very nice. From what I have heard, the 69 is popular with collectors and somewhat sought after.

    Hoover Spa Day

Andy, I used strategically placed outlets throughout the living room! (And held my breath that a circuit breaker would not blow) Thanks for the nice comments.

    Hoover Spa Day

Since it was so unbearably hot in Charlotte today, I decided to have a Hoover spa treatment center this afternoon with some of my favorite clients. Posed for glamour shots from left to right are: the 150, 28, 63, 64 Citation, 67 and 69 If the weather stays like this, I will have to have...

    this year's convention

Wish I could be there to see some of the wonderful friends from the past like Ken, Hans and Frank. I'll be with you in spirit. Tom, as you know I will be there around the 3rd week of July. Save a few things for the stragglers that can't be there for the festivities!

    Hoover 634 - Opinions?

634 The 634 was a department store model. It was also known as a, "Promotional Model". At the same time the model 63 was still being door to door. At or around this time frame, (1954), Hoover department store displays became envogue with the full product line. Shortly after, Hoover...

It was a HOOVER sort of Cleaning Day!

vacerator..... You are spot on about Grizelda. "Desperate Living", is probably my favorite John Waters film. I like them all but some of those scenes are just wonderful! I've been to a few places that have reminded me of Mortville and met some people that seemed like they stepped out of the...

    Bette Davis Eyes

Cuffs054, The first films that come to mind with a plot similar to what you described are, "Deception", and, "The Great Lie". Do either of those titles sound familiar? If you like Miss Davis, both are definitely worth viewing. Vacerator, Don't forget, "Strait Jacket". It was so campy and...

    Bette Davis Eyes

"All About Eve", was shown today on the big screen in Charlotte as part of the TCM Fathom Event features. It is soooo much better on the big screen in all it's glory. Bette Davis is just wonderful as is the whole film ensemble. Next month we will have the Hitchcock film, "North By...

    Bette Davis Eyes

As someone who has studied both for nearly 40 years, been to their childhood homes, read every biography about them and books on Warner Bros. and MGM studios--the TV show is an extremely poor depiction of two of the greatest female stars in the 20th century. I suffered through part one last...

Got me another Aerus over the weekend

I recently acquired the Legacy version of that vac and really like it. I have the matching Legacy canister that matches. The colors are great. I replaced a few parts on the upright and think it is a very good cleaner. The tools are also handy--it is amazing how far Lux has come along with...

VDTA article about the Air-Way Super Chief

In the February issue of the VTDA, (Vacuum Dealers Trade Association), magazine, Tom Gasko, curator of the Tacony Vacuum Museum, has a great article about the 1936 Air-Way Super Chief. As a former owner of one, I found the piece very interesting as there is limited information about these...
