Looking to buy a full size carpet cleaner.

Looks tempting... I'm sure my mom would like it for how compact and lightweight it is, but I'd like a machine that has on-board tools.

Looking to buy a full size carpet cleaner.

VacsofProsper I'm not sure my mom would be happy with another SteamVac. I personally wouldn't mind one, but she's already had bad experiences with her Ultra, so I doubt she'd like another one.

Looking to buy a full size carpet cleaner.

For a good part of my childhood, my mom had an extremely beaten up Hoover SteamVac Ultra that I think she's had from new. According to her, it'd gone through multiple users (and abusers), and was returned to her the way it was. Pretty much all my life, the only thing that worked on it was the...

What vacuums do you recommend to people?

Of course, this question depends on what type of application the vacuum would be used in, but in general, I'd recommend people buy bagged machines for reasons I don't think I need to get into. However, if someone puts me at gunpoint to get me to recommend them a bagless machine, I'd tell them to...

My childhood dream vacuums (aka my guilty pleasures)

Human Yeah, I get it. I'm probably one of the younger members on this site, so my childhood vacs may not be relatable to older folks I guess. Also, I remember you mentioning your love for the Kirby CLassics in another thread. As for me, while I like the look of the Classic and Classic III, the...

My childhood dream vacuums (aka my guilty pleasures)

Jon I can relate to them being quiet. There was one time when I was younger when I was at my grandparent's house. They had 2 Shark Powered Lift-Aways, one for their upstairs, and one for their basement. They let me vacuum their basement one of them, but before I did, I had to get someone else...

My childhood dream vacuums (aka my guilty pleasures)

PanasonicVac Wow, I wouldn't think they'd be THAT good. However, the ones I want only have a floating automatic height adjustment. Also, if I were to get a Lightspeed, I'd want to get one with an electrostatic duster, or buy one off of Ebay and put in on the machine. It seems a bit like a...

Hoover Discontinuing the Venerable Self-Propelled Windtunnel

I have no idea what you're talking about... The only real problems I've had with the Windtunnel chambers is them getting clogged with dust and hair, but debris can still easily get sucked into the machine.

Hoover Discontinuing the Venerable Self-Propelled Windtunnel

PanasonicVac The point of the Windtunnel chambers from what I've gathered is to distribute the airflow so that it's more even, since most machines that use it have side-feed suction. Does it work? That's probably debatable, but debris does pass through them, and even without them, those...

My childhood dream vacuums (aka my guilty pleasures)

Just for fun, I thought I would share some of the vacuums that child me would drool over (and still kind of want today) 1. 2009 Dirt Devil Beeze Bagless This is A machine that I think I first discovered when I went to one of my old babysitter's houses. They had 2 of them, one with a red handle...

Hoover Discontinuing the Venerable Self-Propelled Windtunnel

EurekaPrince I thought they did that with most of their new full-sized vacuums these days, only now it's not as heavily marketed as it once was.

    Bissell Lift-Off Hybrid Pet.

This is a machine that I got a few years ago off of Craigslist. From what I've gathered about it online, I think it was a Khol's or Bed Bath and Beyond exclusive. It also apparently once came with a shoulder strap for the main unit, a bare floor tool, and an extra set of filters. Anyways, when I...

What's the consensus on 90s and 00s Eurekas?

Compared to the other big box brands, Eureka is one I've probably got the least nostalgia for. I've only owned like 2 of their machines, and have used some of my school's Sanitares a handful of times. I've been toying around with the idea of getting some 90s and 2000s Eurekas, but am not sure...

    Forgotten Eureka Products

There's also thing thing. The Eureka Toolbox Vac. I don't know much about it, but it seems to be a sort of Toolbox with a small built-in vacuum included. Very neat concept, but I can only image how well/practical they were.

    Forgotten Eureka Products

Basically anytime Eureka has tried to get into the deep cleaner market has failed, with such machines being the Dream Machine uprights, Dream Machine Lite, Atlantis, and Atlantis express.

My recent find, a Hoover ultra self propelled windtunnel model U6425-920

I used to have one of those. Got it for free from a vacuum store, and.. well, I got what I paid for. The self-propel cable was busted on it, it had a horrible case of the Hoover lean (to the point where the handle release couldn't support the machine well), it's idler pulley and brushroll shut...
