    Retractable cords on upright vacuums

My model train club has a Eureka Airspeed Rewind, and while I generally don't like it in terms of maintenance and filtration, it's pretty decent to use, and it's cord winder is actually one of my favorite features of the machine. I don't have a lot of machines with cord reels in my collection...

    What exactly is the difference?

suckolux That's the entire point of a Shop Vac. It can suck up things that a household vacuum can't without damaging it.

    What exactly is the difference?

Huskyvacs If I were to use a Shop Vac as a daily driver, I'd probably want one with an 1 1/4 hose, for pretty obvious reasons. That being said, I like being able to pick up larger debris with a larger diameter hose. I guess I could either use a cordless central vac power nozzle, or a Vacuflo...

I kind of don't like retractable hose systems.

OCscott3085 I'm glad to know you love your system. I've got nothing against those who enjoy retractable hose systems. From what it sounds like, one of those seems pretty suitable for your hard floors and area rugs. My mom's house is a similar story, with the first floor being all floored, and...

Rugsucker Try asking CentralVacs1928. He'd probably know a thing or two about what you're talking about.

    What exactly is the difference?

I've always wondered if you could get away with using a Shop-Vac as a daily driver. I had a classmate of mine who did just that at their home, but if I were to do so, I'd want to use HEPA bags, a power nozzle, and possibly an extension cord with it.

I kind of don't like retractable hose systems.

In the past few years, retractable hose systems seemingly have been all the rage, especially in new construction installations, and new players have entered into the sub-business to try and compete with Hide-A-Hose's game. When I first heard about and saw a retractable hose system myself, I was...

I kind of want to get a car wash vacuum for my collection.

Centralvacs1928 I totally have plenty of them. I'm basically Larry's Truck and ELectric over here. BY backyard's just full of them. It's a shame your HOA has no taste in backyard decor. Yep. Not having locomotives is the least of my problems. Here's an actual photo of my backyard for reference.

Tolivac At this point why don't I just buy myself an SD40-2 to power the darn thing?

    Got another weird backpack vacuum...

Niclonnic It's fine if you don't, but I'm a fan of all three games. Got myself started with Dark Moon, and that one's probably my favorite. I even have it to thank for getting me into Ghostbusters!

    Got another weird backpack vacuum...

Aw Shucks! You've caught onto my little scheme. You're correct, it's a mini replica of the Poltergust 5000 from Luigi's Mansion: Dark Moon/2HD. It's made by a Japanese company called Taito, and I had to get it imported. I'm a big fan of the Luigi's Mansion series, hence why I got it. So yeah...

    Got another weird backpack vacuum...

Countryguy It doesn't seem to be able to pick up liquids. However, it seems to have good suction and airflow. I don't mean on levels of Kirbys or Sanitares, I mean this thing will literally suck up bedsheets, large coins, spiders, and other things and somehow not get clogged. That reminds me, I...

    Got another weird backpack vacuum...

I found myself this weird backpack vacuum from a garage sale in this neighborhood called "Evershade Valley". It was kind of a sketchy and creepy place. There was this guy selling various prices of old industrial equipment, along with this big ol' painting of this ball of dough with dark purple...

I kind of want to get a car wash vacuum for my collection.

Huskyvacs I'm not sure what you mean by "no way for them to be picked up". Why would they be selling them if they couldn't be claimed at all? Also, I've seen them for around 200+ used on FB Marketplace, which I think is a pretty good deal considering what they go for brand new. 240v does make...

    Rainbow vs Sebo/Miele

RainbowD4C Kirbys are really not that hard to use. I daily drove my Ultimate G for a long time with next to no frustrations. The key is to read the owners manual, and/or watch the instructional video for it (which Kirby themselves have uploaded the ones for the Heritage II-Sentria ii on...

I kind of want to get a car wash vacuum for my collection.

Blackheart I see. In that case, getting it up to my room is going to be a challenge. Maybe I could use a dolly or something to get it up the stairs. Idk.
