    Smelly Compact vacuum

Ohhhhh, now I see it! I need a short extension between the Eureka made PN elbow and the lower wand! But where would I get one with a button on one end and a button hole on the other? Duhhhh.

    Smelly Compact vacuum

Yes, I found and exact match for the burgundy paint. I finished the refreshing paint spraying and turned my attention to wands. I am completely frustrated because. I am pairing the vacuum with an Eureka made burgundy trimmed, PN. No memory of where I got the PN. The PN does not say Eureka...

    Smelly Compact vacuum

Nice discovery, I see I can easily access the 3 screws holding the unit together. So, no removing the wheels. Also, the exhaust port is not plastic, but cast aluminum. Which means it can hold a mushroom exhaust filter with less chance of cracking. It is outside in the sun drying...

    Smelly Compact vacuum

So, I decided not to repaint and be patient. I will save (not hide) the Compact badge for another day. I am sure I will find one like on a junked parts vacuum. I will, however, refresh the burgundy paint job after a thorough cleaning. All is well.

    Smelly Compact vacuum

Okay, so, ...... What I received was a beautiful condition Compact Electra badge. I wonder if I should: Repaint it turquoise or be patient till I find the TriStar IEC badge. I would love to take apart the vacuum, but I noticed there are lots of pins holding everything in place. I would...

    Singer Twin Fan question

I received one as a gift from a friend. They mentioned to me or I read it on here somewhere, that there is a bag seal I need to check/recondition/replace? Anyone know about this?

    Adhesive question

Thanks, looks like it needs to be in a tube. I don't use it enough to buy a can. Bikerray, I miss your posts about your Thrift Finds.

    Adhesive question

Thank you Mike, I will order some. I have seen stuff in parts that look like contact cement, but I was sure that was not it.

    Adhesive question

Expert restorers. What brand/type of adhesive have you used successfully to glue things like hose cuffs to hoses, gluing metal hose ends into electrical hoses. Years ago, a friend and employee of a vacuum shop, showed me a metal can of adhesive they use. She said, "use this and it isn't going...

    TriStar chromed plastic canister badge

No, that won't work - painting In addition to showing the brand, the emblem plugs 3 holes drilled into the side of the body. And the holes are there to mount the emblem.

    TriStar chromed plastic canister badge

Welllll, Shucks! Due to an apparent misunderstanding, I received the newer gel badge instead of the chromed plastic badge. Back to square one. If anyone has or knows of a source, please contact me. Thank you.

    Eureka 745

"Guilty"' well, not a much as any other member. In fact, I barely contribute. Let me say I am astonished the tags survived. The same thing happened when I found a Sunbeam Challenger at Goodwill. Tag and sticker intact. Yours looks like it is in great condition. Lastly, I love the color...

    TriStar chromed plastic canister badge

The Hunt,,, so far, I have not found the missing badge. One good thing is I am cleaning up in the process. I was surprised how much stuff was under the work bench. I need to put up some kind of barrier to prevent things from bouncing/flying under the bench. I will continue to look. Today, I...

    Any tips - Belt change?

Does anyone have any tips on changing a Eureka made Power Nozzle belt? The belts are so stiff and hard to stretch to install. I am concerned that maybe the Eureka belts I have or too old. Should they be that tight once installed? Would them being so tight wear down the brush roll bearings? I...

    Ebay purchase - Ghibli

Well, well, well..... This buyer used a box smaller than the vacuum but did cram it full of newspaper. I did not notice that there was only one hose listed. I did notice there was a PN and wands. Had I looked more closely, I would have noticed there was one, non-electric hose. Hope I can...

    TriStar chromed plastic canister badge

Hi all, I need your help. I am about done with my burgundy body TriStar canister, but I need a replacement side badge. I believe it read: TriStar - IEC. It was chromed plastic that pressed into the side. Please contact me. Thank you. Garry
