Clubwide Long-Term Vacuum Test (I'm using a Singer)

To make things interesting... And to make up for not having used any other machines other than a boring Singer for 2 weeks, I decided to chase the Dyson with the Royal Tank...

Clubwide Long-Term Vacuum Test (I'm using a Singer)

Dust, fluff, grit... Although the pictures are misleading, the Dyson got in one usage ALMOST as much as the Singer got in 2 weeks! I wouldn't have called a result like that at all. The type of dirt it pulled up is the kind of stuff that I'd have expected the Sanitaire to pull up.....not a...

Clubwide Long-Term Vacuum Test (I'm using a Singer)

Dyson Results Now this is impressive. I was NOT expecting a Dyson of all vacuums to really pick up all that much. I really got the vacuum because I thought it was pretty and I wanted to see what all the hype was about..... Well it seems to do a good job!

Clubwide Long-Term Vacuum Test (I'm using a Singer)

The Chaser... So, like was suggested when this event got kicked off, I chased the Singer with another vacuum. I got a Dyson DC17 Animal on Tuesday, and I haven't used it on the house yet. I figured this was the PERFECT time to give it the first run in the house! Well before I post the results...

Clubwide Long-Term Vacuum Test (I'm using a Singer)

Fuzz... The Singer actually got up quite a lot of carpet fuzz. It seems to do a decent job fluffing the nap, and it picked up a lot of fur from Sophie shedding! Now let's push the fluff aside and get a look at the DIRT it picked up shall we?

Clubwide Long-Term Vacuum Test (I'm using a Singer)

Singer Bag Results So here's the results of the Singer bag. Having used the machine for almost two weeks daily, and for cleaning up after each and every vacuum video I've made. Surprisingly the bag didn't seem to leak any dust. The Vinyl bag was clean and the outside of the bag was completely...

Clubwide Long-Term Vacuum Test (I'm using a Singer)

So.......Here's what ended my test early A little twig shot through the bag and left this hole. It's just behind where the filltube comes up and empties into the bag. I've had this same thing happen in the Sanitaire before with a small nail. Makes you wonder why they don't put some sort of...

    Vibra Vac carpet cleaner

They come up on San Antonio Craigslist ALL THE TIME. I've always seen them in red too, but the blue ones seem to be just as popular. At least they are in SA....

Clubwide Long-Term Vacuum Test (I'm using a Singer)

Crap! I had several people through today and had lots of grass, grit, and other nasty stuff tracked in by the front door. While vacuuming, apparently a little stick went through the bag......damn. No more F&G bags in my stash either....so I'm wrapping up. I'll have pix in a bit....including the...

Clubwide Long-Term Vacuum Test (I'm using a Singer)

Full bags... Yeah, I just finished vacuuming with the Singer and that bag is stuffed! It's not full yet, but it's pretty clogged up! It's puffing up pretty hard.....admittedly I'd normally have changed the bag by now...

Royal Metal Vacuum Upright - oil?

In all fairness... You did say "the same kind you would use for your lawn mower". An engine should always use a detergent oil to keep coke and sludge buildup from forming in bearings, oil gallery passageways, and valve covers. So.....engine should always use detergent oil.......motor should...

Clubwide Long-Term Vacuum Test (I'm using a Singer)

Man.......it's been 11 days and I'm about to lose it! I'm just not a one-vacuum kind of guy..... Anyone else for calling it quits on Saturday? I have too many new and spiffy machines that are BEGGING to be used to make it all the way until next Tuesday!

Royal Metal Vacuum Upright - oil?

WRONG!!! WRONG WRONG WRONG!!!! Engine oil that you put in your lawnmower contains detergent. Read it on the bottle! Normal 3-in-1 oil DOES contain mild detergents since it's really designed to be used as a penetrating oil. The MOTOR variety of 3-in-1 is specifically designed for motor sleeve...

    Royal Tank Vac

Does it have the controls in the handle? It looks a lot like the blue version of the maroon one I just got earlier this week!

    1979 royal upright mint

Very, very nice. I love that color scheme on the 880 series! You're going to love that Royal.....they're habit-forming.

Royal Metal Vacuum Upright - oil?

Read Above... Normal 3-in-1 oil does gum. The MOTOR variety does not. It's explicitly designed for sleeve motor bearings.

    My electrolux super J

The Golden J was produced for a shorter period of time than the Super J so it would make sense that fewer were produced and fewer have survived to day. The Golden J was really nothing more than a 1205 painted gold and stuffed into a newer style housing. The proper PN for a Golden J is a PN2...

    My electrolux super J

The SuperJ has a bigger motor and is slightly longer. Other than that, I think they look the same except for the sticker behind the blower port. I know that my SuperJ says it on the sticker where the Golden J says the 50th anniversary.

Anyone know what kind of vac this is?

does anybody know how a kirby with its rug rnvtr brushroll c It doesn't. Plain and simple. The pile lifters have a very stiff brush with a very torquey motor to quite literally rip the carpet back to standing up and untangle the nap! They're also pretty heavy.

    A Eureka Followed Me Home...

Nameplate Here's a picture of the nameplate. I'm assuming this is a Canadian machine?
