    Why is airflow always measured?

So with Ametek/Lamb motors at least, you get a chart like this: The orifice size is just a standardized way of created a repeatable restriction. From my understanding (and I think this agrees with what you have described) the goal should be to have the maximum air wattage for the restriction...

    Central Vac DIY Questions

Motor longevity information would be really nice to have available. Do you have any resources on that? I'm especially interested in the Lamb 8.4" ones, and in particular, the 122501 that I'm planning on putting into my CV350. It's apparently the same motor used in the Vacuflo 77800 and DB8000 as...

Lamb 115334 Motor without rotor - Free + Shipping

From a NuTone CV350. I had plans to rewind the rotor, but if I'm being honest with myself, it's so low on the list of priorities that it will end up just sitting for a decade before I remember it. Figured I'd post here in case anyone has an actual use for it. Brushes and bearings are fairly...

    Central vacuum recommendations?

I decided to go ahead and get the bigger motor (the same one used in the M715h if I'm not mistaken). Waiting to hear back from a cheaper retailer on Monday, and will hopefully have it within a week. I'm curious how the performance will compare. I have a good quality vacuum gauge to measure no...

Looking for a rotor for a NuTone CV350 (Ametek Lamb 115334 motor)

I did end up finding some for sale - needed to be searching for armature rather that rotor. It's part #215330. Found one for $125. Price aside, I'd definitely love to rewind it myself. I found some 28 contact commutators that should work (I'd have to take a millimeter off the face of the brush...

    Central vacuum recommendations?

I just discovered today that I can probably fit an 8.4" motor into my old vacuum. I would probably need a little adaptor that I can 3D print since the bottom of the 8.4" ones have a sort of cone shape instead of being flat like my 115334. The 122501-00 seems to be what is used in the A715h and...

    Central vacuum recommendations?

Yea Ametek is good about that, just gotta get MD, Cyclovac, and Flo-Master on board! Speaking of Ametek though, I was able to find the rotor, it's part #215330. Best price I've found so far is about $125 with shipping... Not too bad. Alternatively, I also found that there are a great many...

Would be nice if they posted the air flow vs water lift curves!

    Central vacuum recommendations?

Last week, just after reaching 50 years, the rotor burned out on my NuTone CV350. I'm not sure I want to spend $250+ on a replacement motor. I'll try rewinding it at some point, and will keep an eye out for units that are being scrapped to pull a rotor from, but even if it gets fixed it will...

    Central Vac DIY Questions

Any reason not to just use something like 1000-2000 grit sandpaper? I usually throw rotors on my drill press and polish them with that. I've heard concerns of particles getting embedded in the copper, but I've never had excessive brush wear after using sandpaper.

Looking for a rotor for a NuTone CV350 (Ametek Lamb 115334 motor)

Just trying to keep this thing going without a Vacuum of Theseus situation. Haven't had much luck finding just the rotor, so I might have to figure out how to do rewinding.
