    Windows 10??

I'm not surprised at all! I would like to try it once the issues are worked out though, as although I stick with old operating systems until they are practically extinct (I still use XP on my laptop and Vista on my desktop!) I'm a computer geek too and like to test out new releases.

    Windows 10??

It'll be interesting to see how this pans out.    My grandfather had the option to upgrade yesterday but has decided to leave it for now, which is pretty much what I advised until Microsoft has straightened out most of the knots.   Me personally, I'm still running Vista Business so I...

    My two passions...

A saturday spent with my vacuum cleaners and listening to the wonderful music of the late Roy Orbison. I couldn't think of a better way to spend a day.

    Windows 10??

I'd wait and see - the first release of any operating system has issues that need to be worked out and it isn't until the first few months have passed that this is done.

    1996 Compaq Presario 1610

In addition to my interest in vacuum cleaners, I also have a love for vintage computing equipment and software.  So when I saw an eBay listing last week for the above mentioned laptop computer I simply could not resist.  And as it turns out, I was the only bidder winning it for the start bid...

    Kenwood Chef A901

Ah damn, it has been removed.  Probably sold!  Oh well.    It was like this though: http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Kenwood-A927-Cream-Maker-for-Chef-A901-Mixer-/261977894352?hash=item3cff196dd0

    Kenwood Chef A901

I have just came across this on Gumtree - is it intact and would it be useful for my machine? http://www.gumtree.com/p/baking-equipment/kenwood-chef-cream-maker.-a927.-maybe-new-/1126699496

    Who loves cats :) ido

Yep, they certainly are great companions and a big part of any family.   Buttons turned 11 years old only a few days ago but is still in perfect health (touch wood) and enjoys the relaxed lifestyle she has all her life.    She has never really been a cat that liked playing with toys.  As...

    Kenwood Chef A901

Thanks Nar, and don't worry - I'll be using it!!   Back before I started full-time work a couple of years ago I was baking more than the whole street could eat, and I fully intend to get back into that again.  Once cleaned up and back to full working order this mixer will be in daily use...

    Kenwood Chef A901

Also, I don't know the first thing about food mixers so a general "lesson" on using them and their maintenance would be very helpful too.   I have only just went on eBay to research this model and saw a listing for a drive belt, which I didn't even know this had.  As far as I knew all mixers...

I can't believe I forgot the most important part - the ratings sticker!

    Kenwood Chef A901

I saw this machine on Gumtree for £2 and without even thinking twice snapped it up.  Now I look at it, it may be quite an old model.   It hasn't been tested yet but the previous owner advised that it runs but only when the dial passes "3", below that it doesn't turn on.  I'll have to check...

Snagged a nice toaster oven today

We have a small Cookworks "mini-oven" which is fantastic - although it is worthless in terms of collecting as it is fairly new (about 5 years old) and a budget brand from Argos, but still a great machine nonetheless.   Here is a picture of the same model we have.

    Quick Tip!

I think we have these over here in Scotland under the name brand "Lenor", but I could be mistaken.

What a gorgeous machine you have there.  I would just love to see it in person and hear that motor purr.

    Electrolux 502 Parts Available

Having bought the machine with the intention to repair a few years ago, I've decided just to strip it down and get rid of it in parts in order to focus more on my cleaners that are already working.   Anyway, the long and the short of it is that it is intact structurally (bar the bumper and...

Let's Turn Two Husqvarna Viking 507 Uprights into One Working Machine!

"<a name="start_29511.329563"></a>As for running around and turning lamps on, vacuuming at night isn't something I normally do."   A lot of older houses have "dark areas" though that aren't naturally illuminated, especially in big American houses.

Let's Turn Two Husqvarna Viking 507 Uprights into One Working Machine!

I just love the 500-series, they truly were ahead of their time when first released (much like the Dial-A-Matic/Convertible) and for UK homes they were the perfect size.    In fact, I wouldn't be surprised if the size was a deliberate effort to steal customers away from Hoover's Junior...
