    Winter tyres

Yeah, age can be just as detrimental to tyres as wear, if not more.

    Winter tyres

My thoughts exactly Rich! Tyres cost much less than your life, because your life is priceless.

    Vintage stereo equipment

"<a name="start_30146.335302"></a>Does everyone else with their vintage equipment use it as relaxation therapy also?"   If I had vintage equipment I would!  Well, my Hitachi T-21 is from the mid 1980s so probably classes as vintage, but my main set-up is a 1990s Kenwood M-58 with Aiwa...

    My Coldolances with Electrolux-Dude

"I truly believe that when we leave this place,  we are at complete peace and happiness.  It is something none of us can escape.<a name="start_30405.337122"></a> So,  let us all be kind to all while we're here." <a name="start_30405.337122"></a>   <a name="start_30405.337122"></a> So...

    How would you repair this?

Indeed it did which is why I'm at a loss on how to fix it.   I'm sure there has to be some solution, but I know it will be difficult.

    How would you repair this?

When I picked up the Electrolux The Boss it was in full working order, however recently I noticed it would not hold in the upright position securely so decided to investigate further.    Not surprisingly, the below pictures show what I found.   Question is, I don't have the piece that...

    Windows 10??

Rob - I'm skeptical of why they are offering Windows 10 for free, but that doesn't mean I don't like their systems.  In fact, Windows is still (in my opinion) the best out there.

    Winter tyres

Well it turns out that getting the winter tyres fitted was a blessing because having taken the summer tyres off, it turns out all four were worn worse than I thought - one dangerously.    Now it is running on 4x Yokohama W.Drive V905 winter tyres with the M&S (mud and snow) stamp on the...

    Windows 10??

"<a name="start_29627.336549"></a>anyone else want a tin foil hat?"   Me!  I'm the same.  Microsoft have managed to make every other OS a success (even Windows 8, God knows how!) and not once have they offered a free upgrade.    I'm still suspicious.

    Windows 10??

"<a name="start_29627.336529"></a>I even wonder to myself if this is even the case with windows 8 or 8.1 or 7!"   Don't kid yourself, it is the same for EVERY modern Windows OS.  I couldn't care less if I'm honest - I'm doing nothing illegal and if Microsoft want to go through my Vacuum Land...

    Good point!

    Winter tyres

Yeah, I'm not a big fan of it either Gary, but I have to admit there is a certain pleasure from stepping outside and breathing in a lung-full of cold, crisp air.    Makes you feel "alive"...   And then your fingers go numb and you start cursing it!!!

    Winter tyres

"!Wow... I can't imagine having to change my tires with the season. That would suck!"   To me it is no problem at all, but I guess it is just what we are used to.  I couldn't imagine going through a winter without having to dig the car out and defrost the windows etc...

    Winter tyres

Ha ha, good point! What is the coldest that you get in winter, out of interest?

    Winter tyres

That's the best way. Especially in Ontario!!

    Winter tyres

Will any of you be fitting them this year? I don't normally but the summer tyres fitted at the moment are mis-matched and one leaks whilst another has cracking in the sidewall - so they need replaced. As it is coming up for winter, I thought it best to go for 4 winter tyres. Having looked...

    Computer Woes

    Computer Woes

"Yeah, well you get what you pay for." Do you? To quote the origninal post: "My Mac died last night."

    Computer Woes

Each to their own. I just prefer being able to buy a decent system for £100 rather than £1,000.

    Computer Woes

That's why I use Microsoft. They may have their faults but the computers can be picked up dirt cheap if you need a quick replacement. Macs are just far too expensive for me to even consider. I could literally buy a CAR for the value of one.
