    Nice Simple Convertible

My Aunt.. had that exact same model and boy was she HARD on it. I remember getting angry at her cuz somehow the spring that held the bag up to the handle broke and she never bothered to have it fixed or rig it in some way to keep it up, so she just vacuumed with the bag dragging behind the...

    Most powerful vintage vacuum?

My Kirby Classic Omega seems to really pull the dirt and grit out of my carpet the best. I can feel it form a nice tight seal with the carpet. Its the one vac i use that i feel really cleans my carpets well. My DS 50 and 80 don't seem to feel as tight but I'm still amazed at the amount of crud...

    Kirby Classic Omega Bag Question

the last one.. is my fav. I have had Omega's with all three bag designs and the gold one is truly my fav. It stays true to it's 70's roots and is the largest in size. The other two were more slender when inflated.

    Why are Dysons so horrible?

Mom's... Mom gave up her Kirby Heritage for Dyson about three years ago. Dad has had to disassemble it three times at least and blow it out with his air compressor in his shop due to it clogging. After their first year of using the Dyson, dad was calling me begging me for a Kirby to use cuz he...

    Why are Dysons so horrible?

just today.. was having a conversation with one of my best buds, and he attended a party over the weekend where, naturally, someone had a boo boo and made a mess. So the hostess pulled out her Dyson, and was just RAVING on how much she loves it and would never use anything else. Well, he...

    questions about kirby factory rebuild?

Kirby I emailed them today to ask about rebuilding my G5 as a non-original owner. They quoted me an ESTIMATED cost of $350.00 plus whatever shipping is in both directions. I'm thinking I may send it in after I get moved into my new place. I bought it "refurbished" from ebay, and have had issues...

    am I just paranoid?

ok, so I've noticed a difference between my older Kirby's and my G-5. When using the Sanitronic, Classic or Heritage, I can see the nozzle lifiting the carpet up off of the padding, which is telling me that there is ample suction. These machines even pull in debris from the sides of the nozzle...

Something to take my mind off of the week I've had....

So after one hell of a week, I decided I needed to focus on something other than family drama and hospitals, so, I pulled out the old Kirby Heritage my grandmother gave me back in 1999 that has been sitting in a storage closet for about three years, and decided to clean it up. Felt good to get...

    Do You Believe This Article?

Greatvacs I purchased a Kirby G4 from Greatvacs. I'd definately buy from them again. When the vac arrived it was showroom new. There was a piece that was damaged in shipping though and they PROMPTLY replaced it at no cost to me whatsoever. No questions. Didn't even have to send the busted piece...

Any news on the new Kirby Avalir yet?

i've tried! I have looked and looked! Naturally Kirby isn't releasing anything. My friend is going to go snooping around his kirby distributor in Dallas to see if he can dig up anything! Not keeping my hopes up, but its worth a shot since i read in a previous post where Dallas was included in a...

I'm so excited with anticipation I could spit! Found this online while doing some collaborative research with a good friend (and fellow Kirby enthusiast) of mine... Looks like the official name is the Kirby "Avalir" rather than Avalier as stated in earlier posts.. Looking at the paper trail...
