    Hoover 825 handle removal

Hey guys and gals. I just bought a Hoover 825 that is in dire need of a complete rebuild, and the seller is asking me how to remove the handle and electric cord from the motor so he can ship it. Since I don't have one in front of me, I have no idear how to do it. Would one of you mind passing...

    Why canisters?

Above floor cleaning I reckon I actually do have a canister vacuum. I've got a 5 horsepower rigid shop vac that I use around the house. It converts to a leaf blower that I use to blow the webs and dust off of the ceilings and walls. Then after it all settles I vacuum it up. Gotta love bein a...

    Why canisters?

I remember how upset my ma would kit with me... She had a brand new Bissell canister machine that I despised using. Yes, it would pick up a bowling ball, and would probably suck start a Harley. But, havin to drag it around all of our stuff was a pester. She also had a Kirby upright that would...

You know , I looked and looked at your shelving set up, and I can't help but like it. It's almost what I would picture an operators showroom would look like. Not a new vendor, but a hardware store that dates way back, and now has vacuums where canned goods were once stacked. Very cool.

    curious on price

Maybe I'll leave those to you hard core collectors. I reckon a 541, 700, 725, 750 , or even an early 800 series will have to work.

    curious on price

Since I was able to find a Universal e720 for parts, I figured I would ask about a vacuum for my upstairs that is carpeted. What would you expect to pay for a Hoover 900, 925, or Senior? I know they don't really come up for sale often.

What's the deal with this Hoover?

baby I just don't quite get it. There's a 103 on there complete for 80 bones. It looks pretty close to the parts unit being sold in the link. There's got to be more to this that I either don't know, or are not seeing...

What's the deal with this Hoover?

baby It's just kinda weird. There's a 103 on there right now that's complete. I just wondered what made this one special?

What's the deal with this Hoover?

What is this Hoover listed on fleabay, other than the motor being turned wrong? Why is it going so high while it's missing lots of parts? Is it not just a 103 rebuild? http://www.ebay.com/itm/Vintage-Antique-Hoover-Vacuum-Cleaner-/191638003949?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item2c9e83e0ed

1920's models, if you had to choose

700 I reckon that's what I'm gonna look for then, and repair/restore a Hoover 700, at least until I beat the brush down and find a unit to buy to fix my Universal. I reckon the first thing to do would be to place an add in the marketplace section here.

1920's models, if you had to choose

700 I watched a 700 end yesterday on fleaboy, I probably should have put in a bid, but I didn't know how well it performs. I only need one unit, and would prefer it to be my Universal. But.... the Hoover seems to have a lot of more parts and accessarys available for it, and if I buy one and...

New member looking for Universal info/parts

texas Some very good information there. Yes, mine has the cordless attachment at the handle. Unfortunetly, the previous owner took a hammer it looks like to the armature on mine. My armature is completely messed up, and the front bearing support is busted. Other than that, it is a really nice...

1920's models, if you had to choose

hoover119dude hoover119dude, how does the Hoover 700 work? I mean, would it do a good job of being a daily driver for a feller that's a slob like myself?

1920's models, if you had to choose

1920's Hmmmmm, the air-way model is sure different looking, and it looks like it would fit on my gun rack. The Royal Standard I haven't found for sale as of yet. The Eurekas look promising, but all I have found (thus far) is serveral model H's ( at least it looks to be by the data plate) like...

1920's models, if you had to choose

700 I've most definetly looked at the 700, as it seems it comes highly recommended. I prefer the contrast of the earlier black motored units like the 103, but if the 103 is substandard to the 700 I wouldn't go that route. I've heard the 700 is a bearing motored unit, and it certainly sounds...

1920's models, if you had to choose

After unsuccessfully (so far) trying to find parts or a whole parts unit to repair my Universal e720, I have decided to maybe buy an early unit to restore that has all of the parts until I can eventually find the parts for the one I have. I'm not really a collector anymore, but would like one...
