I know this because when my model 700 came from California I plugged it in and the motor made a humming noise as the fan would not rotate. A few days later I removed the fan and found the brass sleeve was missing. I figured some dickhead that didn't know what they were doing tried to repair...

when you remove the motor unit from cleaner there is a flat screw on the end of the belt pulley. you need a flat screwdriver to remove it then if memory serves the pulley should unscrew then you just pull the fan blade off. you will need to keep fan blade from spinning when removing the screw...
