Moving the bed as you said would be a great idea for the short term since you don't think you will be there much longer. I think almost any vac will be difficult on an uneven floor.

Saying a Miele is the best on the market, is just an opinion not a basis of fact.. Personally in " my opinion" Miele,s above the floor tools are horrid. I can also say in my opinion go with the new aerus Electrolux, you won't go wrong. If you ever have a problem (big if btw) they will come...

Really nice.. I love vintage metal vacuum tools.

I have a couple of the Aerus/ Electrolux guardian airs.. They do a great job too the filters always need to be vacuumed off and changed once a year because they get filthy too. They really help my allergies though.
