then the belt is too large. you need a 49258 or 44783 AG commercial belt. there is no reason a belt should slip off when the brushroll has a groove for the belt. even if you put it on backwards and the brushroll is turning the wrong way.

actually the best way is to thoroughly scrub and clean the machine with a sponge and dawn. youre merely masking the reason for the smell, instead of removing it.
