The Design and Creation of the GE Roll-Easy Vacuum!

Paula it's designed to have resistance to keep the handle upright when carrying it. you wont break anything. a small dab of oil at each hinge point may help, but i dont recall doing that to mine when i restored it.

    Amway CMS-1000 motor bearing issue?

usually a bent commutator shaft is caused by a sloppy vac shop tech in that vacuums past life before you got it. rarely they are that way from factory, but usually its caused by impatient shop tech using hammers to get bearings on or off. far as the carbon seating you recent video showed...

    Amway CMS-1000 motor bearing issue?

that sounds like a bent commutator shaft to me. and that would require a new armature. the fact your vacuum shop couldnt tell that vs a bearing problem is really sad. never use that vac shop again.... the before video was carbons out of proper seating and and a failing sealed bearing. it...

    The END of Sears, finally.

The last sears store in Illinois closed yesterday, not the entire company. apparently there are still 10 other sears and like 7 kmarts left. Sears to me died many years ago. they cheapened thier wrenches and hand tools about 10 years ago, and didnt offer anything people wanted in many years...

Vintage Rexair/Rainbow D/ with NIB Polish champ vacuum cleaner

it's a floor polisher that's why. vacuum collectors really dont have high demand for floor polishers, buffers, extractrors, floor a matics, scrubbers, etc. ive even pointed out extremely rare floor a matics on fb marketplace for cheapo and no one cares. that rainbow by itself will likely...

    Hoover U3103?

concept ones are extremely loud because of the dinky motor fans they have. motor service might help, but they are not at all quiet machines. thats one reason why i dont like them. your 3101 is the very first concept one from 1978.

Will a Hoover Celebrity scratch up my wood floors? + Donor Vacuum

Kate, frankly the s3061 celebrity ii you got with its hose is a better machine than the celebrity QS. the powermatic pn's on the celebrity ii and iv are much more reliable and you can still get brush strips for these pn's. in fact amatek still makes power nozzle motors for the powermatic pn's as...

    Next up, 2 Traditions.....

yes, the paper bag setup on a tradition is quite useless. it creates too much backpressure in the sani emtor reducing effective airflow. do yourself a favor, throw out the bag and fulltube, and buy an old stock tradition dump bag. you'll thank yourself later. they are still found easily on...
