My airflow tests (mainly from the nozzle)

In this thread I share almost all of my airflow tests what I have done. My main focus is the nozzle airflow, but some pictures have airflow measured from other places and also suction figures. First one is all of my current canisters. I used Sebo ET1 ph in all of these tests. Power usage is...

    Why I dislike Dyson

It's important that we don't mix airflow to the suction. All Dyson vacuums have weak airflow. What I have seen so far being tested: DC14, DC25, DC65, DC40, latest ball models + more. None of these can't reach even 60 cfm from the cleaning head. Good bagged vacuums can quite easily get 70-90 cfm...

The Ideal suction AIr Flow numbers for a Vacuum

They also have reliability problems with their current battery technology. A lot of people have reported failing batteries. No wonder that the warranty is only 2 years instead of normal 5 years. I need to ask my friends V10 for loan and for my tests :D =

The Ideal suction AIr Flow numbers for a Vacuum

Dyson needs to make a small cordless upright. I just don't like when all the weight is in the hand. It makes it very inconvenient when using the tools. Yes I know that you are not huge dyson fanboy :D Your new Vorwerk is awesome!

The Ideal suction AIr Flow numbers for a Vacuum

I haven't tested fine dust with the Kirby, but it should work fine :) Note that my sand is super fine so it's more like mix of sand and fine dust. I actually did the Dyson test twice and result was the same. I was actually kind of upset by the poor Dyson result. No need to drink unless I was a...

The Ideal suction AIr Flow numbers for a Vacuum

Well my sand in the carpet test shows that G6 with the stiff oblique brushroll performs fantastically on the sealed rug. Pick up was 90% and with only two passes :) Other machines performed like this: Kärcher CV36/2...........94% Sebo Felix.....................79% Vorwerk VK135............77%...

Not worth it: Riccar/Simplicity tandem air uprights

@vacuumdevil I remember all the drama what was going on at the time. It's just that you can get the same suction, airflow & cleaning performance with single suction motor vacuum. Like many have said. Unnecessary complexity is never a good idea. Just keep it simple and effective is my motto.

    Whatever happened to twister cups?

Bag savers have huge differences in performance. They all rob the airflow. Electrolux bag saver is pretty good, but the smaller Chinese just kills the airflow.

Not worth it: Riccar/Simplicity tandem air uprights

crazykirbydude I agree with you. Modern vacuums (most of them) have too much circuit boards causing problems in the future. I have hard time believing that my few years old Miele C3 would last long as my mid 80's Miele S234i. It is 35 years old now and works like it was new. Very simple design...

Not worth it: Riccar/Simplicity tandem air uprights

I quite like Miele canisters. Their filtration and especially bags are very good. Also they are quiet and powerful. Same cannot be said about Dyson. Note that Miele prices are way lower in Europe than in US. Sadly quality isn't what it used to be. My mid 80's Miele S234i is noticeably better...

Vacuum HACKING! (Using a vacuum with another brand's attachments without modification)

I use my Sebo ET1 powerhead with all of my canisters. I just needed adapters to do it.

The Ideal suction AIr Flow numbers for a Vacuum

Everything over 80 cfm from the nozzle is good in my opinion. But when the number starts to go near 90 cfm from the nozzle that causes hard to push problems. Here is list of my canisters nozzle airflow numbers. Lux Royal D790, Nilfisk GM80 and Miele C3 are pushing the limits what my Sebo ET1...

Kirby G6 Tandem Air With Nilfisk GM80

Imagine if Nilfisk made upright with this GM80 motor. It would pull easily over 100 cfm from the nozzle.
