    Kirby Factory Rebuild

Wow! What a nice looking 505! I have a bunch of random Kirby G3 parts, and I wonder if I can send them in to be rebuilt into a like new Kirby if I pay them enough!

    Am I The Only One.....

I've seen a lot of Electroluxes, and I can say that I've never seen a broken plastic body. I'm 17, 6 feet tall and I weigh 190 pounds, and I can stand on a plastic bodied Electrolux without the plastic cracking or breaking. Also, the Aerus Lux Guardian Platinum has 100 CFM from the power nozzle...

    Shark vacuum repair

Shark customer service will ABSOLUTELY NOT tell you how to get it apart! They will tell you that doing so will "void the warranty" and blah blah blah. The older Shark Navigator models are actually easy to get apart by Shark standards. Not as easy as a Bissell PowerForce or Bissell Cleanview, but...

    Am I The Only One.....

At least when the vacuum lines failed on the Electrolux, it didn't cripple the whole vacuum!

hello i am curious to know the company that made a small rotovac toy vacuum cleaner years ago...

I think you've asked this question already, and no one could give you an answer. It won't help to make a second account to ask the same question. If fact, that's strictly against the Vacuumland rules. As for the toy vacuum itself, it's likely some generic Chinese made thing with no name brand...

    Am I The Only One.....

One of my other hobbies is working with computers, and I've seen computers that have overheated and died due to a bit of dust buildup on the sensitive electronics. Now tell me, does it make sense to put those same sensitive electronics into a machine which is literally designed to deal with...

    Am I The Only One.....

A vacuum cleaner does not need any sort of complex circuitry. Period. If a mid 70s Electrolux Super J doesn't need a circuit board, neither should a Miele.

    Sanitaire Blue Line Uprights Discontinued

I, for one, think the discontinuation of the F&G style bag units is a good thing. I much prefer the cardboard collar on the ST style bags over a paper fill tube on the F&G style bags that's held in place with a rubber band or spring.

    Am I The Only One.....

I think the base model Riccar SupraLite is a nifty little upright. I would stay away from everything else though.

Why Did Fantom Die In 2001/Euro-Pro Fantom Thoughts

Iona Fantom's failure was mainly because they lost the rights to James Dyson's dual cyclone technology. When they lost the rights to the dual cyclone technology, Fantom could no longer produce their popular Thunder and Fury uprights and their Lightning canister, which all used the dual cyclone...

    Shark vacuum repair

I have a similar model, and it is impossible to fully disassemble the nozzle without breaking something. You could try substituting the Shark hose with a cutoff from another hose, but that would be a temporary solution at best. Also, Shark's 5 year "warranty" is a joke. It's actually more like a...

    Hoover 1030... HELP!!!

It's probably the brushroll bearings. I'll attach a link to an aftermarket replacement. Also, your bottom plate seems fine. As for the handle, take the tape off and see if the screw and it's nut are in place. If it's missing, a bolt from the hardware store should work. Cords are cheap and easy...

    Am I The Only One.....

The bags here are $20 for a three pack. I can get a 3 pack of HEPA Kirby bags for around $13, and the Kirby bags are much bigger. If I had to buy a German vacuum, I would buy a SEBO. They seem well built, yet lightweight, and match or exceed the Miele in cleaning performance.

    Shark vacuum repair

Shark vacuums are near impossible to repair. You have to break it to get it apart, and even if you manage to get it apart without breaking it, parts are near impossible to find. Shark will sell you the whole powerhead for $80 plus shipping, even when it's only a minor component that's broken. I...

    Sanitaire Blue Line Uprights Discontinued

I forgot to mention that Aerus sold the patent for the Lux 4000 upright to ProTeam. Aerus still has the patent on the current Guardian and CommerciaLux uprights.

    Sanitaire Blue Line Uprights Discontinued

Aerus is still it's own company. It has been completely separate from AB Electrolux of Sweden since 1935.

    Am I The Only One.....

Me too. The uprights are way more electrically complex than they need to be and they're way too bulky, weighing MORE than a Kirby G Series, and the Miele doesn't even have self propel! The canisters are okay, but the cheap plastic hoses, the overcomplicated circuitry, and the tiny bags, which...

    Aerus/ Electrolux Lux 4000

If you're testing for voltage then yes, the cleaner does need to be plugged in. If you're testing for continuity, then no, keep the cleaner unplugged.

FREE - good Kirby motor units - Classic 1CR, Omega, Tradition

I wish I had the money for the Tradition. I would save them, but I don't have the cashola. :( I hope someone does save them. They look like they would clean up nice.

Electrolux model XXX with a power nozzle port?

I made a special cord for my Model 30 because I didn't want to hard mod mine. I took an old percolator cord that fit and I added another secondary plug (standard NEMA 1-15 two prong outlet), and then I took an old Kenmore PowerMate nozzle and added a long cord onto the nozzle that would plug...
