    worst vacuum

May I remind everyone that this is a vacuum cleaner forum, not a car forum? Also, I don't see high end vacuums going anywhere anytime soon. Robot vacuums cannot match the performance of a full size upright.

    Central Vacuum Mufflers

I know the Aerus Electrolux central vacs have an additional muffler that sits on top of the motor compartment. It's a plastic disc with a layer of thick foam inside.

Bissell PowerForce Compact 2112 Honest Review

The Bissell PowerForce Bagged is a good bang for your buck. Couple it with some HEPA bags and you've got yourself a decent little vacuum.

    Central Vacuum Mufflers

It's actually a special type of thin walled pipe made specifically for central vac installs.

Bissell PowerForce Compact 2112 Honest Review

I actually used to have one like that. It was a trash pick, and I had it until one of the wheels broke off. Performance wise, it was similar to the newer model. They were barely worth $35, let alone $50. I'd definitely shell out the extra $6 for the bagged full size upright.

Does anyone cringe at their vacuum conversations when they were a kid?

I've been into vacuums since the very beginning. I even dug up some old pictures! Pic 1: 18 month old me playing with a toy vacuum Pic 2: My collection when I was about 6 years old Pic 3: Me and a Bissell Lift-Off Revolution when I was about 6 years old Pic 4: Me at 7 years old vacuuming the...

    worst vacuum

I used to have a Dirt Devil Scorpion Turbo hand vac that had the same problem. It came with a turbo brush that worked well for the first couple uses, and then it stopped working. I thoroughly cleaned the vacuum filter, and took apart the turbo brush and cleaned that out too. The turbo brush spun...

    Central Vacuum Mufflers

The one that my local Aerus dealer uses in central vac installations uses a series of baffles to reduce the sound. It actually makes quite a difference.

    Whatever happened to twister cups?

Like many early 2000's bagless systems, those "bag savers" were highly inefficient, reducing the vacuum's airflow to next to nothing. They were mostly a sales gimmick. I could never see one actually working. I will attach a picture of one.

Bissell PowerForce Compact 2112 Honest Review

There are still some bargains if you know where to look. The aforementioned Bissell PowerForce Bagged and it's upgraded version, the Bissell PowerLifter Pet Bagged, are decent budget options, at $56 and $149 respectively. The Sanitaire EUKSC679J is a good option as well at $109. Of course...

Bissell PowerForce Compact 2112 Honest Review

So about a month ago, I bought one of those little PowerForce Compact Wally-World specials for kicks and giggles (I like to test cheap vacuums occasionally). Over the course of a month, I have grown to despise the damn thing. Also, keep in mind that this vacuum is no longer $35 like it used to...

    vintage vacuum cleaners

Aerus Electrolux introduced their first power nozzle in the late 1950s. I believe the AF was the first Electrolux to use it. I might be wrong though.

    Electrolux Velocity

We got the "Electrolux" Velocity as the Eureka Altima over here in the U.S. of A. From what I can tell, the Eureka Altima seems to be more feature rich than the Electrolux Velocity, despite the fact that the two vacuums share the same design. The Eureka Altima had the self cleaning duster, turbo...

    worst vacuum

It's the U.S. Government. They skimp on things like vacuums. I bet they only give each base around $100 for a new vacuum every time the old one goes kaput.

    Kirby G3 Restoration

Oh, I was under the impression that it was a CRT TV. Even the small ones are quite heavy, so a 55" CRT would be like 400 LBS! I knew those projection TVs were heavy, but not THAT heavy! Those projection TVs were a product of my time, you know.

    Saw another Sanitaire today

I have decided that going to Goodwill is not worth my time anymore. I went a few days ago, and they had a mid 90's Kenmore canister with a crushed hose for $30, a bagless Dirt Devil Easy Lite canister with no hose or tools for $12.50, and a Dirt Devil Versa Clean for $10. I used to be able to...

    Quietest Vacuum

Does a vacuum have to be working correctly to be considered the noisiest? I've heard some extremely loud Bissell CleanViews and Hoover Elites.

    Why I like Dyson

I've never liked using any Dyson. There is almost no airflow, which means that you'll be going over the same spot over and over again in a vain attempt to pick up a stray piece of thread. Also, they make their brushrolls overly aggressive on the carpeting, most likely in an attempt to compensate...

    What's Your Favorite Bagless Vacuum?

The Shark 3-in-1 Multivac looks like the product of rampant, unchecked vacuum inbreeding.
