Montgomery Ward's Vacuums, Upright and canister..

Wow . . . That Strato-Cleaner is beautiful! I've seen photos of the outside before but not of the inside. I love the wheels on the floor tool too, that's a super nice touch. Whatever happened to Apex?

Montgomery Ward's Vacuums, Upright and canister..

Pics would be cool but even without them this is fascinating information. I had always assumed Apex just specified a larger, higher amperage motor than anyone else, perhaps something out of a central vac or commercial machine. I never thought of them making their own motor. What a shame that a...

Montgomery Ward's Vacuums, Upright and canister..

Very Interesting . . . I didn't know Apex ever made their own motor! Did any other vacuum manufacturers use the Apex motor?

Montgomery Ward's Vacuums, Upright and canister..

"it rolls easily, but noisily" It's nice to know that the little wheels work OK, but maybe for quieter use Wards should have offered - dare I say it - a Ken-Kart! I'm guessing that being Apex based the Wards has more suction than a Kenmore.

Montgomery Ward's Vacuums, Upright and canister..

Beautiful . . . These are both really nice vacs, thanks for posting Hans! I just love the Montgomery Ward crest and hood striations on the upright while the canister is cool for simply being an Apex. How long did Apex build these canisters for Wards? The steel wheels look pretty small, do they...

Pretty Vac . . . I like the big headlight, blue color scheme and complementary blue brushroll, congrats on finding such a nice machine!

    The PINK Lady Kenmore Whispertone

28 pounds . . . That's a lot to love! My FQ will be happy to know she's not the heaviest gal in the classic vac world :)

    The PINK Lady Kenmore Whispertone

Stunning . . . Rarely does a vac have such a neat combination of beauty, performance and historic significance, it's great to see it in the Museum!

    A Look at the Princess

Nice Little Vac . . . And very cool to hear the story behind it, particularly how the design team worked to simplify the construction. I wonder if Eureka made any of these for private labels like they did with so many of their vacs?

    Decade 80 find...Goodwill strikes again!

Nice find! I always thought that was a particularly handsome machine, nice to see it in good shape.

Finally, after all this time, I found a Eureka Wards in all original and excellent condition!!!

Congrats on this . . . It's great to see someone finally snag a rare vac they've been hunting! Don't forget to post some photos once you get it!!

Beautiful Eureka Upright Attachment Set on eBay!

What a nice tool caddy! IMO the lack of a good, durable tool caddy is a big downfall for a lot of classic vacs, having tools at hand is such a plus. Not being a Eureka guy I wasn't familiar with this, thanks for posting.

    Mini-meet in Tulsa, OK

A Handsome Collection . . . And very nicely displayed, each one on the carpet and ready to go! I especially like the turquoise Constellation, IMHO one of the best colors for that vac.

Kenmore Canister find at the sales today

I will agree . . . A height adjustment is a mighty nice thing to have; I'm surprised that all high end power brushes don't have this feature because it makes the product that much more useful. Love the blue color of this vac too, very pretty - I really enjoyed looking at the photos. Overall a...

    When did Singer...

Didn't Bissell buy what was left of Singer's vacuum business? I seem to recall something about this but hopefully someone more knowledgeable than me will chime in.

Another visit from the Hose Fairy

Wow, a very good deal for that stuff, it always seems odd that a whole canister vac is often easy and cheap to find but correct attachments can be far more difficult . . .

Australian / NZ Pinnock Vacuum Cleaner

They're Going Backwards! The '64 ad looks like a C-4, with front skids instead of casters. The C-5 in the first post with the single front caster is a rare model made for about three years in the early '60s to replace the C-4, by '64 the C-5 had been replaced by the C-6 with the double front...

The Design and Creation of the GE Roll-Easy Vacuum!

Wow! Great article, these are fascinating vacs . . . the photo above always makes me think of the Del Rubio Triplets, lol.
