Plano TX Kirby Service Center closing Nov 2019

The only Gold trophy Kirby I ever saw Was awarded to Tommy Baird (of Baird Meter fame) in Springfield, IL.  This was during the Tradition run, and he and his office were selling a ton of them.

    Robot Vacuum Debate

If you view them for what they are: A light maintenance surface cleaner for low pile carpet or bare floors.  You will be ok with it.  If your expectations are a deep cleaning "Never Vacuum Again" cleaner to use on your Frizzes, shag or plush carpet; you will experience disappointment.   I...

    Sirena vacuum question

Longer hose. I have now owned my Sirena for three  years.  Though I agree with you it is sorely wanting for a longer hose, as far as I know there isn't one available at this time.  All I am seeing is the 6.5 ft available.   This is a very good question to pose to Sirena on their website. ...

I have Rainbow Rep coming to my house

Calling may not protect you The three day right to cancel requires a written notice. Though it sounds like your dealer is ethical, he could say he was never notified that you wanted to cancel, and without written proof you could be stuck with the purchase.

I have Rainbow Rep coming to my house

Never Mind Every machine will have it's pros and cons.  I was offering a solution to using this particular type of machine with the objections voiced.

I have Rainbow Rep coming to my house

Compost, Yes, but.  Vacuum dirt is  DIRT.  If you don't garden, use it for house plants.  Hair will compost, it is just slower than other organic material; but it will break down.    You can also do as others on this site have mentioned in the past.  Keep a strainer by the toilet.  Pour...

    boots toy vacuum cleaner (1998)?

I care Toy vacuums are what we may have originally collected.  They are our memories.  Maybe possibly they should go in the household section to appease some viewers.  I personally have no problem with you collecting and discussing on this forum as long as they are within the last 20 years.

What's "The Vacuum" of the 2010s?

I am in agreement with Tom Not just Shark, but many of the other planned obsolesce machines.   They are just not designed to last very long, because the marketing plan is to sell more soon.

The new quantum upright water vacuum!

I was thinking the same thing You have the water (weight) sitting on the handle, sloshing around as you are moving it through the house.  Don't see how it could lay down to clean under things without spillage.    My prediction, it will be a mess.

    Kirby hedge trimmer

Yup, as others have already pointed out . . .Not a Kirby attachment.  But I did used to joke that they would come out with the Kirby Roto-tiller attachments sometime soon, so wouldn't doubt it.

Hoover Air Revolve Canister Vacuum - $34.99...

It is a fun little vacuum I agree witb you it is more of a novelty for a collector, and I would never have paid the original MSRP of $399.99. They, Hoover, could have made it much better, and a solid contender by fitting it witb a bag system, the poorly filtering, small capacity dirt container...

    Kirby theft rings??

Been going on for years. This is why Kirby started etching the serial number into the case in a visible location. Thefts from warehouses, dealers from distributors, customers from the finance company. All are possible when you see a machine worth $$$$ selling for $.

Metal mesh shrouds on bagless vacuums

That's interesting My Hoover React has a metal shroud, but i've never had any problems. Then again, i havent stuck my hand up the dirt container either. I will be more careful when I do. I am assuming that the charge is stored in the grid, and it is actually the hand that is completing the...

Metal mesh shrouds on bagless vacuums

I am actually confused why it would deliver a shock Even from static electricity, I can't see how a metal shroud inside a plastic bin would be grounded to allow the discharge of the static charge.

    Dry Like A Desert

It is illegal To sell a used mattress in Kansas. It varies by state, but federal law dictates it must be labled used, and the method and who sanitized it. Bed bugs do Not live in just mattresses. They can hide in the corners of dresser drawers, suitcases, clothing, purses, couches...

    Dry Like A Desert

Fear of Bed bugs Several of the resale shops in town, not necessarily Goodwill.  Will not accept a bagged machine, they claim they can bring in bed bugs.   I told them to just remove the old bag and it is no more of a risk than a bagless machine.  If it is infested, then can hide throughout...
