I am guessing that an electric powered nozzle would have caused the battery life to be greatly reduced.

I see now, it does say air powered floorhead. I've never used one before so not sure how they perform. I foresee no issues on the hard surfaces, but carpets may be a different story.

If I don't need a particular vacuum I find and it is in good working order and the price is right, I often will clean them up and sell them.

I would personally go with any of the Aerus Electrolux canisters. I love the sidekick attachments for cleaning up pet hair on couches, rugs, chairs, etc. Aerus makes quality machines that have great suction and are generally long lasting, provided you take care of them.
