    New Oreck Cordless

@kirbyvertibles Yes, that's a good point regarding the floor nozzle tool.

So my day went from great to aweful :(

Was the item packaged well? I have bought things on sites like ebay where the sellers try to save a few bucks on packaging and use too little and then the item gets damaged in transit. Sellers that try to skimp just get bitten in the a$$ in the end and have to offer a refund or risk getting...

    New Oreck Cordless

So I recently picked up the Oreck POD at a discount. I've had it for a couple weeks now and I really like it. Mine came with the tool rack that they wouldn't throw in for me at the store last time I went. All mounting hardware including screws and plastic wall anchors were included, as well as...

    Oreck Air Cleaner

I have an Oreck Air8 at home, but found a used Hunter brand HEPA air cleaner that I use nightly instead. While the Oreck was fine, I don't know that it cleaned the air as well as the true HEPA. Also, the Hunter had a more pleasing "white noise" sound and moved a ton more air than the Oreck.

    Vacuum bag fragrance

As someone earlier mentioned, the Oreck uprights have a small pouch in the bag that is made for their scent tablets. They work great. Also, the Oreck brand carpet crystals smell about the best (in my opinion) compared to any of the other fragrances. It is sort of a clean lemon fragrance, but not...

    Kenmore Cleanmore home cleaning system

@ rugsucker "..we can speak to each other with voices almost as if we were in the same room.." Haha! Ok, I'll try to call you today to discuss.

    Kenmore Cleanmore home cleaning system

Jimmy, I tried to send you an email (to the address listed in your profile here), but it came back undeliverable. Do you have an alternate?

Thanks for the pictures Pete as well as the info on the previous post. Your unit looks pretty complete! Also loved seeing the original box!

    I bought a Dyson V10!

@matt8808 I used to have one of the older DeLonghi heaters that worked pretty well. I think the one I had was oil filled. A few years ago, I received an Eden Pure Infrared heater and that thing will throw out some serious heat! The best thing is the outside of the units are cool to the touch...

Jimmy, do you have the Spraymate attachment?

    Kenmore Cleanmore home cleaning system

Thanks! I appreciate the additional details. It seems like a well made cleaner, but does take some effort to put all the pieces together and connect the cleaner solution tubing. I only tried it out for maybe 10 minutes but it seemed to suck up the water from the carpet well.

    Kenmore Cleanmore home cleaning system

This was a recent thrift store find. At first, I wasn’t sure what I found as I thought it was some type of shop vacuum. It was in the original box, but it was filthy on the outside and looked like it had been stored in an outdoor shed for quite a while. For $15, I thought I would take a gamble...

    New Oreck Cordless

That’s strange that the pod didn’t pick up the crystals very well. It seemed to pick up all the dirt when I tried it out in be store.

    New Oreck Cordless

I see they have made a few updates to their website as well. It used to say the POD cleaner had a 40 minute run time, but they have now updated the specifications section to say 35+ minutes. I thought that was interesting. Specifications Battery Type Lithium Ion Run Time 35+ Minutes Charge...

    New Oreck Cordless

Thanks Patrick! Yeah, I hate not having a place to store the tools, so the vacuum really should come with the caddy, especially at that price point! Perhaps I'll take your advice and call Oreck directly to see if they can offer a better deal. I will say the pods do look like they will hold a lot...

Best affordable bagless vacuum for small apartment with no pets?

Agreed. The "pet" designation on vacuums is just to fool folks into thinking they have to buy one with that name if they pets at home. That's silly. If your mom isn't considering a bagged vacuum cleaner, I would just get any bagless unit you can find at the big box stores as she will likey have...

    New Oreck Cordless

So I went to see the Oreck pod in person today as my local store just got them in. Overall, its a nice vacuum. It's very lightweight, coming in at under 6 lbs. The floor nozzle and smaller turbo brush are indeed electric powered, as evidenced by the electrical pins on each. When I demoed the...

Tell what you think about these Bissell and Clarke uprights

I also had an Oreck Steam-It mop and it worked very well on hard surfaces; picked up so much dirt on the floors, but my mom was looking for one so I gave it to her as it would be easier for her to use than the Floormate.

Tell what you think about these Bissell and Clarke uprights

Those floor scrubbers you are looking at look more for use in a commercial setting. Might be overkill for a home, especially if they are expensive. I have the Hoover Floormate (a used one I found at a thrift store) and it seems to work well so far. It is one of the original models if I am not...

    New Oreck Cordless

Yeah, would be nice if the charge time could be much quicker. That Kobalt push mower I have, which takes a hefty lithium ion battery can fully charge from zero in 30 minutes. Wish these vacuums could do that!
