When I use the hose on my H-II Kirby; sometimes it will not switch on and I have to hit or kick the back of the motor housing to get it to start. The orange power pilot light goes on-however. Is this a common problem with this model?

Perhaps The original gray and red cord had dryrotted with age and was unsafe to use.

My Model 519 Kirby is sometimes referred to as "Old Red" because of the color of the trim and the attachments. "Old" , because it IS old.

I am sure it would be to much strain on the motor and it would eventually burn out. It would also be noisy as hell.

F and G Bags Never exploded when I used them in mine. I agree that they are not as efficient.

Model 519 is the best to me . l love the red color scheme. My parents had this model. If only it had a dual-speed motor as powerful and smooth sounding as a Heritage II.
