Yes RD is the correct style. As belts get older (especially the round belts) can become dry rotted. You might try a new package. If the belt does not stretch easily then it is probably bad.
If the roller brush spins freely. Then it is probably the belt. I would try a new package.
Good for you! Maybe bad for us. I can't seem to find any place that sells belts or bags anymore besides Walmart. Even some locations of ACE hardware stores do not carry them.
Yep, Paul is correct! Also, the online archive of Sears and JCPenney catalogs will also have some good info. I did have the same pinkish model some time ago. Recently, I found two of the black and white Futura models with the chrome wands and the same rug/floor tool you have pictured. ...
I just realized Superior vacuums is located in Canada and so is Nuera Air. Since this is being posted on a US based site. I'm assuming this will also affect the US as well? If so, I didn't realize the US central vac industry imported so much from Canada forgive me for my ignorance. I'm not a...
I still think central vacs are the future! Although I personally wouldn't want one. I can see the need for them in the field. Especially in new construction. If I wanted to own a vac business, I personally believe that installing/servicing central vacs is the direction I would go.

Well, Dan did purchase the 65 with the white replacement hood that he claimed was his grandmother’s from one of my good friends on eBay. I wouldn’t believe everything he said on here.
Does anyone know off hand what the cord length is for this model? U4503? I could measure it myself. I was trying to find a spec sheet for this model on here.
The U4503 was a pawn shop find this morning. Like I really need it.
Alex,
Thanks for the info. The CA had quite a few extras with it. Including the original hose. I'm not sure if the hose I'm referring to goes with the CA.
Thanks to Chad Cunningham who spotted this CA in an auction close to my house. I'm now the proud owner of a nice CA. I think it is a later one because the serial number is 1974.
My question is about one of the hoses it came with. Any idea what it is? I was told it is a model F hose.
See link...
That’s a pretty common model! I think I have around five of them in varying condition. To put things into perspective I just bought one at a thrift store a couple weeks ago for $30.00. Which is a tad more than I usually pay.. but I thought it was reasonable.
I used window a/c filter to make mine that is sold at Walmart for the filter and the muffler. I might try the shop vac filter later on. That sounds easier.
Yes, for a canister/tank I usually reach for an Electrolux. I just finished rebuilding a motor in a golden jubilee and 1205 (really both are 1205s) the motor was easily to rebuild, and the quality is there. Nice long heavy duty carbon brushes.
