    Today's POD

Hey Ross The Hoover Aero dyne model 50. I had the tank FOREVER and over several years pieced together a complete vacuum. The only attachment I am missing is the upholstery nozzle. They had a permanent dirt bag/collection area that was messy to empty IMHO. I put a generic fit all tank bag and it...

Phillip!! We had that same vacuum growing up in the 70's!!! It replaced our Kirby 562! I remember the day my folks brought it home from McMahan's Furniture Store in Banning. The newest member of the family.

Debbie As you face the back of the cleaner slide the white lever to the left. It may take some muscle. The bag will pop right off. Some times i use a flat head screwdriver to slide ( push ) the lever over. Good Luck! Marty

    Maid Lite

Dirt Cup The dirt cup empties from the bottom. You still have to get the dust that clings to the filter....with your fingernails! Okay, just kidding, just use another vacuum.

    Maid Lite

David It does look well made. There is a switch that shuts the brush roll off. The attachments are the usual toothbrush and wand slash crevice tool. I think the only thing Hoover about this vacuum is the logo! It was an impulse buy at Wal Mart. I have used it once! I should take it back.

Clutch the pearls!!! Debbie and David, Although I don't wear pearls this is the moment where I klutch my imaginary pearls! Debbie, when you take the agitator out of the suds take it apart completely and let it dry. All the parts inside may not dry completely if the agitator is left intact. I'm...

The newest member of the family.

Missing Great Hoover! It just seems to be missing something without the round logo in the corner. Sort of like going out without your pearls and earrings. That is of course if you wore pearls and earrings. Which i don't of course being a guy...not that there's anything wrong with that , i mean...

    Great Day for thrifting!!!!

Not mean at all Okay sort of.. Just kidding! So Pete, this was the BOL model. I guess with the plastic jar and all. I just remember these as being different from the beehives. In fact it was the first style Oster that wasn't a beehive that i saw growing up. The square base blenders showed up...

What a rough week!! I managed to get a day of thrifting done yesterday after a week of two jobs and having my Dad in the hospital. He's out now and at home doing well. And most of my papers are graded so i thought i needed a break. I went to the antique mall first and found this great green...

I have a friend who works at Tuesady Morning who knows i like vacuum cleaners. He lets me know if any vacuums come to the store. He was raving about a cute Oreck rip off called the Maid Lite. I went to see it and bought one. Its only uses 4.2 amps so it doesn't pull down on the carpet like my...

Dave 'n Petes Micro Meet avec pictures

Pete The rug tool that has the rubber bands is teh Eureka Vibra Beat. The air rushing through the bands caused them to vibrate in order to loosen dirt from the rug. Sounds great in theory but it didn't work in reality. It was just noisy and the bands would sometimes stop if something large got...
