    Suppressor

Wide wheeled 375. Hello Gary, The wide carrier wheeled 375 most probably appeared 1948/9 and ran until the introduction of the 119 in 1950. I have never known an electrolux suppressor to blow!! its the hoover suppressors that have the tendency to pop, most commonly those fitted into the...

    Suppressor

Hello Luxz80, The Hoover models 375 and 119 where not fitted with suppressors. But by 1956/7 when my parents were married my mother bought a model 1224, which was fitted with a suppressor. I think the first lux was the 62 as all the 62s that I stripped down have been fitted with suppressors...

    What the heck is this?!?!

It is ....an early 1930s hoover service station dust bag vacuum cleaning machine powered by an adapted model 700/25/50. Very rare I should think. Clearly hoover ltd thought it best to fit the 541 type brush roller to the assembly.

    Kirby 514 before and after

What a .....lovely job you have done, I imagine it runs well too. I have only used this model once (very rare beasts this side of the pond) and I was very impressed with the performance. Kirby at its best; not to big or heavy, great styling, features far better than its hoover equivalent...

    Goblin Major Model 2

GOBLIN MAJOR Hello Mike, Just seen it on ebay, nice machine, the most powerful goblin of its time at 350 watts. It had eight feet of hosing and both the ace55 three way carpet nozzle and a large plain type plus floor brush and felt based parquet floor tool; I think the major only differed from...

    Hoover Senior 612 Help!

COMMUTATOR. Hello Jake, On inspection of the commutator did you notice that where the carbons touched was there a very distinct track worn? I had a very smooth running 652 which I took apart for full servicing and noticed the comm had a deep dip where the carbons had been running; carbons...

    Love my Hoover senior!!!

Two tone grey hoover senior 652A. This was the first colour scheme of hoover uprights UK Pervivale made cleaners I remember seeing in the showrooms. It was the first senior with a two speed motor (420/650 watts) According to my official hoover illustrated parts book the grey model ran from...

    long forgotten connie

This colour scheme ..... of connie was the first I remember in the shops. The big design flaw with the new style (pink/white) was the floor nozzle with the open vents holding the rollers virtually channelling all the suction away from the main nozzle opening. I think hoover saw the error in...

    Early Eureka Junior!

I love ....the look of the 1920s and 30s Eureka's. That really is a beauty. A friend here in the UK has a premier junior(a rarity over here)and from what I can remember it performed very well and looked so similar to this eureka? I bet you wish you had opened the box sooner!! Regards, Walter.

    Alex Taber..Electrolux history

UK Luton electrolux news magazine ....On ebay UK around eight years ago, which celebrated twenty-five years of progress of the UK factory. How I wish I had continued bidding as it would have been such a good source of information as I have a 1923 5, 1927 10, 1927 11, 1932 12, Pre war; 16, 25...

    Annual 'pilgrimage' coming up soon!!!!!

Was the model 60 ....much the same as the perivale 612? If so it was probably the easiest cleaner, in my opinion to strip and service next to the goblin 102 upright (circa 1968-75ish) There were so many 119s(us 115) and 612s sold in between 1949-57. Regards, Walter.
