Cleaning company using Rainbows - what dyson owner missed?

House cleaners and unrealistic homeowner expectations My partner's mother cleans homes for a living.  She charges over $120 for an 8-hour day, and she works alone.  Honestly, that's a bargain.  Once people KNOW someone is cleaning for them, they tend to become very lazy, sloppy, and entitled...

Mini meet page on the VCCC club website.

Earlieone And you're a Kirby fan?!  FAN-tastic!  (Get the pun???)  I've never attended a conference or mini-meet.  What do we do, how do I prepare, how do we make it happen???

Kirby Classic III attachments compatibility question

Safety switch alignment? I have never seen a Classic III, however if the safety switch is in similar placement as the Heritage, then no.  The Ultimate G Diamond safety switch is just to the left of the front fan case hole.  I believe in the Classic III, the safety switch is just below and to...

    Eureka Master Service Manual

Holy moly! You sure did invest in that one!  Congratulations on winning that bidding war, looks like it was an intense one!  I am not into Eureka, but I totally appreciate your wanting to share the knowledge you have fought hard and paid for.  You're a good guy.  Cheers!

Argos 1985 - 1997 and other misc. catalogues

Cool vintage catalogues Wow, did you see the Surgers on Reply #149?!  Awesome!     Also, below this is the first time I noticed a man in the vacuum ads.  So, was it the 80's when society decided it was ok for men to help with housework too?!  About damn time!

Chicago Convention Unfortunately, Chicago is too far for my measly little pocketbook.  I will have to wait until a convention comes closer to me here in California.  Sad though, because it looks like LA was chosen for a convention a few years ago, so who knows how long until it'll come back...

    kirby Avalir

Used the Multi-Surface Shampoo System I bought one for my Mom's Sentria 2. It works just as you'd expect of a Kirby shampooer. The hardest thing is manipulating that red, angeled hose to connect it to the shampoo tank. Kinda tricky to get it, but once it's connected, it works much as previous...

    Kirby D-50 Serendipity

Awesomeness! Charles, this is my favorite model of vintage Kirby!  What an amazing find!  The one I have, I got from an interstate fraud artist on eBay.  Totally reported her and her racketeering ring of hoodlems.  This terrible experience mars my enjoyment of my DS 50.  Treasure this Kirby and...

Latest addition… my birth year Kirby Heritage!!!!

Using a DS 50 Dirt Meter I conducted a little test this evening. Just shampooed my carpets yesterday with my Ultimate G Diamond. I wanted to see what my Heritage would pick up, how it would perform. I put the Dual Sanitronic 50's dirt meter on the Heritage and vacuumed my apartment. Sorry...

My Kirby update - a year into ownership...

@turbomaster1984 I just got a Kirby Heritage last week, in honor of my birth year.  I also have in my less-than-year-old personal Kirby collection: 515, Dual Sanitronic 50, and Ultimate G Diamond Edition.  I have also fixed up two Kirby Generation 3's, two G4's, two Dual Sanitronic 80's...

Latest addition… my birth year Kirby Heritage!!!!

Thanks guys! I really dig the brotherhood and community that I get to enjoy here on Vacuumland. @electrolux137- Charles, how could you possibly be any more awesome?! And don't worry, I haven't forgotten about the G4 you gave me. I'm about to put on the new fan, after already having blown...

Latest addition… my birth year Kirby Heritage!!!!

1981 model I used it tonight and did notice a bit less airflow than I expected. I have a hunch it's the emptor that restricts the airflow. However it also proved harder to push, as the suction is still quite strong. Indeed, this is the 1981 release, which was the first year they made the...

Shopping between Kirby Avalir and Simplicity Gusto

Kirby all day! @jrbaker-  Kirby Avalir, all the way.  The farther your motor from the nozzle and carpet, the less suction-power and air-flow present on the carpet, and thereby less deep-cleaning being done.  Using the Kirby Avalir as a straight-suction upright would be a good option if your...

How long to fill a bag?

How long to fill a bag? I use the universal fit Kirby HEPA cloth bags in my Kirby Ultimate G Diamond, which is my primary daily driver.  It took me about 6 months to discolor and fill one to the Full Line.  This was during the winter, however, when our xmas tree fell over and I got so mad that...
