Variety is the spice of life

You know, one of the perks of collecting vacuum cleaners is that we never have to worry about getting bored with the machine we use to clean with! For example, I’m doing some cleaning today, and while my trusty Olympia One is patiently sitting in the corner waiting to be used, I wanted to...

    Surprised by a vacuum

Jimmy Thank you very much! I do plan to make a trip to see you very soon when this awful weather lets up some! Hopefully Hans Craig will get to join us, and we can fit a trip to Ridgewood in this time. Hopefully I’ll be able to lighten your load some of your excess machines as well! Oh, and...

    Surprised by a vacuum

Okay, I know the title is pretty ambiguous, but I guess this is sort of a question as much as a statement to everybody here. Have you ever picked up a newer, cheap, almost toy-like vacuum cleaner to use for a small pickup job and actually be pleasantly surprised by its performance and...

Regina stick vacuum model number and 3 part questions

My ALL-TIME Favorite..... In the Regina Electrikbroom lineup! Mainly for sentimental reasons. Growing up, my grandfather had one identical to that, same stencil pattern bag, etc. As a kid who was a nut over vacuum cleaners anyway, and coming from a household that was strictly Electrolux...

What is the toughest vacuum motors of the past 50-odd years?

Toughest motors I can’t speak a lot on the newer vacuum motors, and I believe many newer motors have been designed with planned obsolescence and shortened lifespans. The toughest motors I’ve personally ever encountered are the old coffee can style Hoover motors, or the early Electrolux motors...

Robot Vacuum Cleaners - Novelty or Useful Tool?

Robot Vacuums I can’t speak from personal experience, but I too have seen the videos of robot vacuums coating the whole house in rover’s “accident”. On a comical note, let’s hope you don’t have one of “these” carved into your floor!

Hoover Air Revolve Canister Vacuum - $34.99...

Christmas Gifts I gave my mom and dad one for Christmas. I ended up helping them unbox it and assemble it....I must say, I’m VERY impressed with it so far! It’s quiet, powerful, and just a really cool vacuum. Mom loved it, but got half mad at me thinking I spent a lot of money on it for...

    A Hoover U4123 replica

Gareth That turned out absolutely fantastic! You took a basket case of a vacuum and completely transformed it into a thing of beauty that any museum would be proud to display! I hope you get many years of enjoyment out of it!

Hoover Air Revolve Canister Vacuum - $34.99...

Last but CERTAINLY not least..... The Air Revolve in the “fancy” box arrived! This is definitely the one I’ll be keeping NIB. The others are Christmas gifts, but I’m keeping this one....I got tickled at the FedEx guy, he asked me today “why the hell did you order so many vacuum cleaners?”...

FedEx Delivered..... Five of the six Hoover Air Revolves I ordered! I honestly was skeptical I would even get them, but there they sat, five very large boxes on my front porch! Needless to say I’m VERY ecstatic! One more to go!

Hoover Air Revolve Canister Vacuum - $34.99...

Sold out... The model with the power nozzle is sold out, but they still have the model that doesn’t include one. I just ordered three more myself. Christmas presents are going to be vacuums this year!!

Hoover Air Revolve Canister Vacuum - $34.99...

I bit the bullet.... And just ordered one at the $49.99 price point. We’ll see how it goes. According to the website, they only have 8 of them left after I ordered mine. I’ll update when mine arrives!!

    Tan Electrolux Model G Worth?

Aiden That right there is EXACTLY why the back of his shop is so full of vacuum trade-ins! When I was there, he had a ton of them then, and that’s been several years ago! I purchased a functional Silverado from him for $50, so you might be able to use that as a starting point. At that time...

    Electrolux Ultralux LX

Jimmy If you do run across that literature, would you care to make me a copy of it? Since I have two CE’s I’d LOVE to have some accompanying literature, brochures, owners manuals, etc. to go with them! Thanks!

    Electrolux Ultralux LX

Brochures I know this is a long shot in the dark, but does anyone have a brochure for an UltraLux Commemorative Edition they would scan and post by any chance?

    I Finally Went For It

Mike Sirena told me that their newest model actually has an all-in-one hose like the Rainbow. Water pickup and electric all in one. I’m also talking with Quantum to see about the possibility of a distributorship with them as well! It will be interesting to see if this works out!

I don’t know..... If eBay removed the listing, or the seller ended it themselves, but it’s already ended!

    Went thrifting today....

Motor Issues Thanks guys! I’ll dig into it very soon. I haven’t checked it out yet mysel, the guy I got it from said fire and smoke shot out of it when he plugged it in. So who knows, might be as simple as a bad cord! I do know the switch seems seized. The motor itself turns freely, so...
