I have a few more that are unrelated... This one depicts a young aspiring actress using a very new looking Electrolux Model 30 XXX, to clean her New york Apartment. The actresses name is Jean Kemmerling.... for those who may wish to ask....

    LIFE images...hosted by Google...

So I happened to be perusing the "net" and noticed on one of my other forums I'm on concerning automobiles, that they found all these pictures that were originally used, or taken and archived by LIFE magazine. I decided to do a quite thourough search of the site, and found a quite interesting...

    Canister Question...

I have a suggestion if I may..... Fred, All of our stores carry a canister just as you described for our budget conscious consumers. It's a Royal model, the RY-3050. Ours retails for $349.95 or w/ trade in $319.95 give or take a few dollars. Here are the pro's an cons IMHO, and the reasons...

    Vintage Central Vacuums

I guess most of it is still there!!! I find that amazing that only the powerhouse was torn down at some point. I'm epecially intrigued by the fact that the pre 1930's part of Sanitarium is still standing, this was built in 1903. So it stands to reason that the building may still have central...

    Vintage Central Vacuums

Battle Creek Sanitarium... It's still there. Parts of it anyway. The last addition is the picture you see beliow that was completed in the early 1930's. If you interested in the history of such things, and how far we've come as a society with health care...the link will be you're cup of tea...

    Eureka Model 260

Any and all information or help would be greatly appreciated Hey Bud, Your machine will take a round regular Eureka /Sanitaire belt. Same as all Eureka Rugulators or F&G uprights from that period. As far as I know, all single speed motors are still available, but are dwindling down as time...

    Compact Electra C6

Does anybody know what these two little clips are for? Hi Alex, Those little clips were "clipped" onto the metal rug shoe, you can see the indentions where they were to fit. This allowed the Interstate RugCleaner to work on long napped rugs, and shags, which were just barely beginning to...

    Do hepa vacuums stay hepa

Sigh........... Evan, If you can read this, I would like to say that It really pains me to see your newly minted, blatant disreguard for other peoples dignity, beliefs and character. We have shared quite a nice repore since the convention, and I've been really pleased at knowing you...

A Garage Full of Vacs, Part 2

Replies..... Re: Arm and Hammer Bags, I really don't find them that bad. Of course I very seldom fill up an F&G bag to any appreciable amount. In many cases it puts too much strain on the zippers, and in these old machines with the orig. bags, I rather not push it. It took me 5 yers to find...

A Garage Full of Vacs, Part 2

And a full on shot....... This machine is two speed, with a two position height adjustment. Uses regular Singer/Kenmore SUB1 bags, or of course uses F&G bags thru Eureka. I have a Arm and Hammer F&G in there now. It's actually kinda neat. And it cleans and grooms very well.

A Garage Full of Vacs, Part 2

Did Sunbeam make a full sized upright.,......???? Brian, To answer your question, Sunbeam DID offer a full sized upright thruought most of the 1970's. Several variations were put out, nut most of them were nothing more than rebagdged Singer Twin-fan uprights from the same period. Some were...

A Garage Full of Vacs, Part 2

Since Chad loves vacs with pns.... Yes...Yes i do.... So now that I see the underside of the Sunbeam powernozzle, while it does look very "hooveresque", It does look as if Sunbeam came up with their own powernozzle for the Challenger vacuum cleaner. This suprises me, only becasue they really...

A Garage Full of Vacs, Part 2

PowerNozzle vacuums...my very FAVORITE type of vacuum. Toby, Wow do you have a great collection of cleaners there. I have never seen two of them, one being the very first Premier canister with a "Douglas" powerhead, and then the later Sunbeam Challenger with a powerhead. So it comes to reason...

    Hoover Vault

:-( I guess I got overexcited or whatnot... Huh. Guess my memory is crap after all. I could have sworn that these were of the vault. That last pic tho. I'm so sure it is.... You are correct on the floors being wood. Seems like many places in the plant had wood flooring. All looking like 2 by...

    Hoover Vault

And heres the last shot of the vault.... I remember seeing this wall and what looked like possibly a window may have once been there. This would have been the east side of the huge two room area. Just out of sight, to my immediate right was where the bag was....

    Hoover Vault

And here is the main room.... It's dimly lit. But unless someone says otherwise it's definitly the vault. You can see the tags on the shelves, that literally went to the ceiling.
