    My Latest Vac Purchase...

Just got this the other day. A Dyson DC23 MotorHead. Purchased it from a good friend who only used it a few times and took very good care of it. Came with a bunch of attachments, manual and paprer work as well as additional floor tools. I haven't had a chance to really play with it much since I...

    My first Dyson ...

Congrats on your purchase! Its a fun one to use! I believe it was the last upright (at least for the moment) that lets the dirt spin around in the bin. Very fun to watch. Alot of the Dysons made after the DC07 have these little fin like fingers on the bottom of the bin that keep the debris from...

So I am getting a new Dyson..

Hi Chase, I currently have a DC27, the "Total Clean" package which included a mini turbine tool, flexi crevice tool and soft dusting brush with the machine. I have had this one since last January and LOVE it! It uses the improved root cyclone setup which does very well with filteration. Also...

    oh no, a burst bag!

Oddly, I had the "Type-H" bag in my Celebrity blow out just today! I was vacuuming up "Capture" dry carpet cleaning powder from my truck interior when I noticed a cloud of white dust all over the garage. Looks like the spot that gave out was at one of the bag ends were its held by glue. The bag...

    1990's Soft Body Bissells

I remember seeing those direct air Bissells at our Walmart when I was in my early teens. I can't remember the exact color (all though I'm thinking they were blue maybe??). I do remember that they had a decent wooden brush roll and a tool set with a hose that could plug in on the side of the...

    Hoover Convertible Help

Yes, if the rear of the armature is scarred, scraped, nicked or whatever than its now a paper weight. That style of bearing (sleeve bearing) is very delicate and picky. the surface of the shaft has to be clean and smooth, no abrasions, properly oiled as well. Also if you ran the machine with the...

I have one very similar to that but yellow. They have the same 7AMP Amtek motor and VGII brush roll as a Sanitaire. Really these are a Sanitaire minus the removable fan housing. Great dependable cleaners. There real work horses and a piece of cake to repair and maintain. Great find!

    WINDTUNNEL T-SERIES RECALL!

Well, they brought the good name of Hoover down in flames so why not the vacuums too! I'll bet somebody got beat with a bamboo stick after those vacuums left the factory.

CEO of Techtronic (TTI) talks business in this YouTube clip

I'd take a broom and dust pan over that China made garbage any day. Atleast the broom will last for more than a year. And they can take their powertools and stick them were the sun don't shine. Maybe those can take the place of their thumbs! The older Hoover parts, bags, motors, etc. are...

    Kirbys and metal fans.

I've noticed some difference between the two fan setups but not enough to really fuss about. The metal fans have a distinct sound though which is quite nice.

    I Have Been Proven Wrong!

The thing about those older Fantom uprights is that they used NO pre-motor filter, at least the Thunder was it?? That right there explains the dead motor :P These Hoover "T" vacs aren't bad (TTI aside). They do clean well and the filters are made of a nice material and seal good. I've used this...

    Oreck XL 2600HH Trash Find

Alex, the brush roll is soft but it is quite plush. Its very similar in texture to some of the ones used in Royal uprights and the original DD Hand Vac. Karl, mine did have a cracked fan housing, luckily the one on my parts Oreck was still good. I didn't realize that this model was that new...

    Oreck XL 2600HH Trash Find

A friend of mine picked this up out of the trash for me yesturday. When I went over to his house to get it I noticed that the handle was all torn apart as if somebody was at one time attempting an electrical repair and then gave up and tossed it. The thing was thilthy and the bag was all dingy...
