I have a G5, (And 6 other Kirbys, lol theyre my favorite)and its hands-down the best cleaner I own.

I have a 1986 Sanitaire,(SC888) and 1997 Kirby (G5), I think they would be comparable. Sadly the sanitaire is all taken apart, being restored. :/

What I meant to say was the appraised price was $10,00- that doesnt necessarily mean that someone is going to buy it for that- :p I mean, someone may appraise a vintage Pringles can at $25, but that doesnt mean I will buy it- vacuum cleaners, (and any specific item) are a verrrry limited resource.

You know, this is a tough one. The speed switch isnt all its cracked up to be- its not that great. All in all, its whatever you choose- theyre all the same machine, just different colors- if it was based on color, go for the G5- its not grey. :P

Flip the belt lifter to "belt on". then, take the nozzle plate and open it up- then the brushroll should just pop right out.
