    Why So Many Models?

Why do vacuum manufacturers produce so many models? Perhaps if they focused on a few, they would get the quality right. I mean, I can't even keep Miele straight. There are so many canisters with different options, better build quality, and power heads it boggles my mind. Sebo isn't quite as bad...

when did Hoover get so crap?

Hoover went crap around the time everyone else did. And it wasn't just with vacuums. Most appliances are not built to last as long as they once were. My grandmother had her Whirpool dryer for 35 years. After it finally died, she went through three other dryers in 10 years. They don't make...

Changes I Would Make to my Maytag 1200

I am sure many of you have noticed I have posted several threads today. Please, if you aren't interested, don't read them. This is my only vacuum "outlet" as I don't know anyone who likes vacuums. As I have mentioned before, I really like my Maytag 1200, however there are changes I would make...

    Create a Vacuum

If you could request a vacuum with all the features and design elements from various vacuums, what would you include? For me, there always seems to be a trade off. No one vacuum has it all. For example, I really like SEBO's simplicity of use and the ability to pull the brush roll out in seconds...

Kirby Diamond vs. Maytage M1200 Tandem Air

While I know this isn't a scientific test I decided to try to determine which machine has more airflow - the Kirby Diamond or the Maytag M1200 Tandem. I used a toilet paper roll to see which vacuum it stuck to. It was a bit difficult because airflow depend on many things including the height of...

    Watts vs. Amps

Why do American vacuums list amps while European vacuums list watts. For example, my SEBO D4 Premium, I believe, is 1300 watts, however, my new Maytag is 12.5 watts. What is the difference? I looked on the ration plate of my Kirby Diamond Edition and it doesn't list watts or amps.

    Got My Maytag M1200 Today!

Power Nozzles I think dirty air power nozzles for canisters is an awesome idea. Cansiters don't have the air flow of a lot of uprights which means they don't clean as well. I prefer switching between canisters and uprights as I get bored with the same old thing. However, my SEBO D4 Premium just...

    Got My Maytag M1200 Today!

So, my new Maytag M1200 came today and I just used it in two rooms I vacuumed two nights ago. I was quite surprised at how much dirt, dust and cat hair it got out of the carpet. My family room rarely gets used and has relatively new carpet. Not to mention, my cat passed away in 2014. The living...

What's Most Important To You: Filtration, Airflow, or Ergonomics?

Reply I think agitation should have been added to the options. For me, airflow and agitation are the most important. Why? Because without proper cleaning ability, there won't be any dust to put into the air. The vacuum must clean well before we can consider filtration and ergonomics. I am...

    Maytag 1200

Kirby Filtration The Kirby doesn't filter fine particles. All it has as a filter is the bag. That holds on to large dust but small dust goes right through it. I have allergies and I get a headache and sneeze every time I use the Kirby. I have the clot bags as well. It also isn't a sealed system...

    Maytag 1200

Does anyone have experience with the Maytag 1200? I just ordered one. I have wanted a tandem air vacuum for quite a while. I feel it is the best of both worlds. I have a Kirby Diamond Edition that cleans carpets well but isn't great on hard floors, is terrible at filtration, and has a poor...

    Accessories for Maytag 1200

Does anyone know if there are additional accessories for the Maytag 1200 such as a mini turbo brush, etc? I just ordered one but cannot locate additional accessories. David

Direct air motor vs Clean air motors

my experience I have owned many vacuums. Bought the purple Dyson in 2005 (I don't remember the name). It lasted five years and now it makes a loud noise as if something is caught in it. Hated that thing. Am also not a fan of bagless. You have to breathe in that stuff every time you clean it...

SEBO and Miele 2x as much as in the UK

Reply Delaneymeegan, I agree with you. Just stinks for those of us who have common sense and want a good product.

SEBO and Miele 2x as much as in the UK

I was pricing Miele and SEBO vacuums in the UK and they are literally less than half the price as in the US )with exchange rate considered). Why is this? You can get a SEBO D4 Premium for a little over E340 in the UK yet it costs $900 in the US. I don't get it.

My Review of the Kirby Diamond Edition

Kirby What I find interesting is how pervasive the poor sales tactics are across markets. Even dealers in the UK are known for providing very bad service. Why is it this is so common with Kirby distributors? It can't just be coincidence. There are just too many complaints about sales tactics...

My Review of the Kirby Diamond Edition

Reply I think what I meant is fine dust escapes into the room because not only can I smell it but I get a runny nose and headache when using it. Given that it isn't a sealed system, there are many places for dust to leak back into the air. For those without dust allergies, this might not be a...
