Estimate on Central Vac Install Cost

Let me correct my post- The $500 per inlet includes a high-end unit. 2- inlet minimum. That makes a HUGE difference in what others have posted and what you have heard about.

Estimate on Central Vac Install Cost

This sounds like something you should be asking a CV installer, not a bunch of people with limited experience. I'll try to help you as much as possible: ...That will save you about $300 from the get-go!! ....We charge $500 per inlet including tubing on a normal job. If there are issues...

Help me chose a new vac!

Fred, you are the difference between an obsessive enthusiast and a true collector! You used to work for Hoover, though, didn't you?

Help me chose a new vac!

Not to be a downer Malcom, but most of the people responding do not work in the vacuum field, they are collectors who enjoy certain types. Nobody has bothered to ask you what surface you are vacuuming. When you go to your local Riccar or Simplicity dealer, they are trained and experienced to...

Royal wide path or kirby generation?

Go to a vacuum cleaner store. Only they can provide the seasoned expert advice and maybe even give you a machine to take home and try.

    Anyone need a vacuum?

Hi Chesley, I bought and paid for a vacuum from you on the 12th. Have emailed several times and you haven't replied. Any idea when it will ship?

Silverado PN4A and Silverado Omni Flo refurbs for sale

I'm wondering the same Zach. Its also really hard to believe that someone put $450 into this machine...you have to try really hard to even put $200 into a Lux rebuild. If they did it themselves and got the parts wholesale, then you really would have significantly less than $450.

    Vacuum Cleaner Biz

Another very popular way to avoid dealing in stuff they can buy online or at big box stores is to just not carry that same stuff. We sell Riccar which is territory protected and unavailable online. Royal is beginning to get very strict about what is sold online, which has allowed us to add to...

    Vacuum Cleaner Biz

I may add that a true vacuum retail store and repair place normally has a selection of 30-40 new vacuum cleaners. Having this selection covers all price ranges, and usually makes sure you have something for everybody. I'm just not too clear on why any average consumer would want to go into a...

    Vacuum Cleaner Biz

Customer service. Customer Service. Customer Service. Customer Service. Customer Service. 1>You have to first completely ignore the competition. Sure, big box stores sell vacuums, but they don't sell anything other than a big box. We sell friendship, knowledge, customer service, and...

I am kinda thinking of a Brand New Vacuum.

Andy, the Lux is one of my favorite looking uprights. It looks to be at peace and it is special to me as my aunt had a Discovery II growing up. Your cleaning needs would not be met with that upright, though. The suction motor is significantly smaller than a full sized canister vac's motor...

    Kirby spring handle replacement

Its a huge pain to change out- prepare for several trial and errors with it- make sure you use the tool!

    need help!

The powerhead is fairly basic. Take the two screws off of the bottom (located on the metal plate). The cover should lift off. Remove the bottom plate and brush roller. Clean off the metal bearings on either end. Re-install brushroll with new belt on shaft, place bottom plate back on the...

Royal Household Line (not DD or metal Royal)

Greetings everyone. As we continuously expand our lines in the store, I'm always looking for new machines from our existing suppliers that we carry. We carry most of the Royal line (Lexon canister, extractor, sMetal uprights, commercial machines) but have not ordered the two lower end uprights...

    Dyson DC07 without a clutch?

Sadly, all of the DC07 models that I have seen (and I've seen a lot) have had the dreaded clutch.

    Heritage II Nozzle Puzzle

The upper foot switch screw, take it all the way out- the bottom one, just retract about 3/4 of the way, its a heck of a lot easier to put back together.
