how often should i replace the bag?

My Versamatic never looses suction until the bag is absolutely completely full. It's a Sebo, so those of you who use Sebo machines like me know this.

    morphy richards 73309-reliable

My old Windsor Versamatic is my old reliable. It's a '98 model and is still holding up to the use it endures from me each day. Needless to say that it's rugged and a high performer. An overall good daily driver, alot like your Morphy Richards.

what is your favourite dyson vacuum?

dysonman1 Now that's one noteworthy cleaner. I dont mean to seem nosy but I am curious: Are you the popular collector with the vacuum cleaner museum? If you are, that's awesome and I'd like to know more about it, being a collector myself.

what is your favourite dyson vacuum?

I like my DC 14 Complete, but it doesn't deep clean well, so I use it on short pile carpets and thin area rugs as well as stairs. For a plastic vac, it's built very well and is great for what its used for.

    Wasting time on fleabay

I do the same thing but can't buy anything and I end up bumming myself out when I see something I like and remember that I can't buy.

    verilux vacuum

I like to use my Regina steamer plus for carpet sanitation after a good vacuuming. I wouldn't say it could replace carpet shampooing but it could be a great add on to sanitizing a carpet.

    best power nozzles

I personally prefer manual height adjustment because I guess I would rather adjust the height myself. That's my only explanation for that. I like the power nozzles from the '90's Kenmore whispertone canisters. They agitate carpet very well with 2 rows of brushes and a beater bar.

Electrolux Discovery Special Edition Rebuild Questions *Advice Needed*

@ compact9guy Thanks! I was afraid to mess with the motor more. I'll just somehow get another one, as I planned to use this machine as my daily driver. And for anyone who was interested, my morning didn't exactly go as planned, so pics should be posted later... as soon as I figure out how to...

    Whats your favorite vacuum?

Hmm... I would have to say my Eureka the Boss Smartvac. It's one of the few department store vacuums that I've used that is rather clog resistant and has great carpet agitation. The filtration is not bad at all. It's no Kirby but it's a top performer in my book.

Electrolux Discovery Special Edition Rebuild Questions *Advice Needed*

I'm not insulted, and thanks for the advice! Some pics will be posted as soon as the computer is free to use later this morning. I once again took the vacuum apart to the motor because it only operated very slowly for about five seconds, and this was after cleaning off the commutator. And yes...

Electrolux Discovery Special Edition Rebuild Questions *Advice Needed*

@ronni I had the machine completely apart from top to bottom. I did realize that the belt was missing, but no obstructions or blockages were present in the vacuum. As far a pictures go, my phone won't let me post any so tomorrow morning my moms computer will hopefully be used to upload some of...

Electrolux Discovery Special Edition Rebuild Questions *Advice Needed*

@bikerray Thanks! I found those screws, which were hard to get out but I managed. I then took the motor out of the shroud. I got to the motor and took the top part that holds the bearing off and found that the commutator was completely black with carbon dust, so some sand paper took care of...

Electrolux Discovery Special Edition Rebuild Questions *Advice Needed*

Hi, all. I'm currently rebuilding this Electrolux Discovery Special Edition that was given to me by my aunt. I just cannot figure this thing out. Being mechanically inclined to fix many things, mainly vacuums, I am not used to being so perplexed by a seemingly simple vacuum. To begin with, I...

    Poor filtration on new vacuums

I'm not surprised... Along with the new department store machines being built cheaper, the filtration system is built more poorly as well because its another part of the vacuum. I agree with you, they should try alittle harder. Filtration is a must for me, along with many other homes. Alot...

    Two questions on Fantoms

I have an original fantom that needs a switch to. Did the conquest switch not work?

    Why are Oreck's so rubbish?

I have medium pile carpeting and I still use my Oreck on it, but that's only because it picks up the pet hair so well from my boxer on the surface of the carpet.

WHAT HAVE I GONE I DONE?

This may be a dumb question but... Is a dc01 in the US unheard of? I've always wanted one in my collection even if I cant plug it in and use it.

    Fantom suddenly will not run

Yes, it's an eleven amp. I haven't looked but later today I will click the reset button. It also has the weird, rubber circular power switch so that seems like a very logical explanation for it quitting. I was absolutely clueless. those two thing didn't pop up in my mind. The switch clicked but...

    Fantom suddenly will not run

Thanks Mitchell, I appreciate the help.😊 Being a fantom fan myself, I would hate to see the downfall of my fantom. I absolutely love how it sounded, how it cleaned, and its probably one of the only true cyclonic vacuums, as even if there's alot of dirt in the canister, the dirt is always...
