    a walk into the sixties..

Someday I'd like to find an old stereo like that (preferably broken electronics insode) and gut it out, and put a modern integrated amp and some nice speakers. With digital music these days don't need to worry about trying to fit a CD player or tape deck or any of that junk. :) Looking good...

    Polishing my Kirby 561

Blackheart: Do you know how they apply it? (by hand I'm assuming, it's the only directions on the container). I would call it a nice satin shine, not really chrome-mirror shine. Unless I'm doing something wrong...

Anyone have info on the new Kirby ?

I am up for any kind of design as long as they do not subtract metal and add more plastic. Keep them lasting a lifetime....

    Heritage 84, HEPA filtered!

I should have... I was looking at the price and not only were the poly bags more money, but shipping was a couple bucks more too for some reason. However combined shipping on all those parts changed the shipping price so I probably should have! Next time!

    Polishing my Kirby 561

The G5 I did with the grinder, it was a messy job! Here is something a little cheaper and easier (less messy, more time consuming), using a hand drill with buffing kit! It may not be totally mirror shiney, but it's nice and clean looking. (similar to this...

    Polishing my Kirby 561

to get a chrome-like mirror shine you will be hard pressed to get the results you want by hand. For aluminum a stiff buffing pad (either on a buffer/grinder or hand drill bit attachment) with emery (black) or tripoli (brown) compound followed by white rouge compound on a soft buffing pad and...

    Heritage 84, HEPA filtered!

Not as pretty a face as a Classic or Tradition, but still a bad ass vacuum cleaner! Motor runs great and it's quieter (lower pitch tone) than my G5! Works great on my basement carpet, I think the larger head helps (the G5 tries to eat the old thin carpet, H84 glides over it better) Thanks to...

    Heritage 84, HEPA filtered!

I bought this lovely H84 for $25. The original fill tube was cracked and paper bag was FULL, it was a mess behind that zipper! The outer bag is clean and unit is in pretty nice shape for it's age though. I took off the bag and tossed it in the washing machine, washed the emptor, tossed the...

    Old Bags

IF that room was in my house Surely would have to buy ANOTHER vac as my Kirbys would be quite a lot of work to haul down that Conversation pit thing! I'd love to be house hunting and find a place like that! lol!

    kirby lost a wheel!!

Wow, weird! I would suggest finding some used parts, on ebay or something.

    Vac Virgin

For me I'm strictly into Kirby vacuums. Since childhood I've had a fasination with them- their loud powerful sound, scarey looking headlight, and cool design with all that aluminum and colorful bags! I have owned a Kirby Tradition, I would consider my first vacuum, a long time. It was my...

    Kirby Sanitronic VII Restoration Pics

that looks great! Did you change any parts on it (such as the belt lifter), or did they just clean up that good??

    Look at this Kirby!

I would consider it an antique... But you just gotta see the inflated prices on ebay to realize that even THAT is FAR too much money! LOL

    Compressed Air Vacuum

Wow, the power needed for those compressed air vacuums in the link would need an air compressor MANY times more powerful than your regular home/shop compressor! Comparing 40 or 50+scfm to 4 or 5 that is a huge difference. Does not seem like an efficient way to go.

What brand and model vacuums do your family members use?

my parents have Bissel or some kind of cheap plastic upright. When I get my G3 Kirby put together if I can't sell it I might see if they would like to try it out. I believe my sister just got a new Dyson Animal. I would like to try it out (and maybe bring the G5 over and show them a real...
