Vintage plastic & rubber vacuum parts

On my Kirby 510, which was in pretty nice shape when I got it, the trim had discolored and looked green and kinda dry feeling. Using the tip of how to clean dirty power cords, I used lacquer thinner which removed the discoloration and made it look new again (perhaps it just removed the top...

    Kirby polishing

I used Flitz on my Kirby 510 and it came out nicely, but the vacuum was cared for and did not have much oxidation or any black spots on it. logdog: Was that G3 in the video all polished up, if not then it's in pretty good shape compared to most of the old Kirbys I come across. Using...

    Kirby bag washing

I have vacuumed drywall dust using MicronMagic bags and could not see any dust go into the outter bag. As mentioned, check your fill tube for leaks (easy way to do this is by washing the emtor+fill tube in water and filling the inside with water to see if they leak (great to do while the bag is...

    Anyone selling...

what kind of condition are you looking for? I have a VII but I was going to part it out cause it's pretty rough.

    Kirby 505 bag care

If you decide to put another bag on it, get a second emtor as well and leave the original bag attached to it. You don't wanna pry it off and wreck the bottom of the bag! I think any of the Sanitronic ones will fit so there are lots out there.

    Kirby 505 bag care

At least your 505 bag is black. My 510 has a grey(?) bag it's in good condition but it's more of an army green color from discoloration, and nothing I can do about it!

The Miracle of Mr Clean Magic Eraser

Magic erasers are great. I detail cars and use them on light colored plastics and leather, nothing not even very strong chemicals clean deep down like they do! Great on leather and gentle too!

    Christmas Vac - Already ?

Beautiful machine! Maybe I need to print out some of those pics and stick them to my wall maybe that will get me motivated to tear down the 2 Sanitronic VII's I have sitting in the garage...

    Vintage eBay thread #1

This may be crazy expensive, but dare you to find a nicer D80! http://www.ebay.com/itm/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=170698075739&category=42146&emailtemplateid=36736782&sellerid=F5es2wfojR9dI6X877r/kg==&buyerid=FpRekKD1aqDl9Kx8BKi+hg==&refid=store&ssPageName=ADME:B:SEMK:US:LISTG#ht_9494wt_1163

Kirby Tradition like new rebuild and photo fun!

Once again looks great Will! How much did that new bag cost you? I think I will keep the one I have but I do like how the newer bags feel and "puff out" more when not in use. And Will I'm still curious as to the headlight cover with the "Kirby" on it, I've never seen it before not on either...

    bvc heavy duty

They say that red has more pigment which costs more (I think cars with red paint might have cost more when they were new, back in the day?) What about ordering paint online from somewhere? either way it will look good. That is a beastly looking machine, makes modern shop-vacs look wimpy!

    How do you display them?

I have my Kirbys parked beside each other close to my desk in the basement/mancave area.

    RELISTED........

lovecanisters: That is exactly how I feel and would like everyone to do business. I don't mind waiting a bit (a few days, or a week is reasonable) all I ask for is COMMUNICATION!!

    RELISTED........

^^^ that's the best way to do business on ebay, xraytech. I pay for stuff right away or within a day or 2 if I'm not near a computer. The sooner I pay, the sooner it's shipped to me!

    The hundred-dollar Kirby Cord

I would only even consider paying that much if it was still brand new in the packaging. I would hate to buy a cord and try to clean it and it still looks used...

    Just sad

Looks kinda similar to the one I just bought new. I got mine on sale for $199, so it's not like it's a $50 vacuum or something. Nice powerheads on them.
