    Canisters that Agitate

My Royal/Starks 4650 will pull up the carpet and agitates pretty darned good. I see crumbs and things bouncing around as they get close to the power head. Obviously the weight advantage for an old school upright is a huge advantage. We had Kirbys a few times as a kid and I remember them being...

    The 90s In HD!

My DAT deck is a Panasonic 3800 pro deck I got on eBay when I wanted a nice digital deck my step dad could use when he was playing live music with his band back when I could afford to buy silly toys if I felt like it. It came with the remote and service manual and was a well reviewed highly...

    The 90s In HD!

If you had a early hd capable TV DVHS was the only game in town to record true hd video from any source. I have several SVHS recorders, a DAT audio deck, and a laser disk player or two, plus a couple of 3 head Akai gx glass head real to reels. Almost got a DVHS to go with all my eclectic gear...

I"M STARTING A VACUUM REPAIR SHOP!!!!

TV shop I used to hit the two tv repair shops by my house and get all the rejects customers didn't want to repair. I could actually get most of them going and the worst ones sold for 50 bucks each. My parents and later my garage and even a rented storage room was full for a while. The ones I...

    Bread machine

I have had parrots for 40 years... I have had Maxi Pionus parrots a long time, also have a Zojurushi bread maker with a Teflon pan for years too. I have never had a issue with any of them getting sick from it but big thing is to not overheat it so it burns the coating and starts off gassing...

    LEDs??

They make them in just about any light range color just like the cfl's if you look around. Our power company offered a free energy saver kit if you applied and they gave out led bulbs, shower heads, water saving faucet nozzles depending on the size of your house. We got 6 led bulbs in 2500k wich...

Article: Trade-in vacuums repaired for those in need

When we didn't have much money garage sales and thrift stores were where we got expensive things we needed. I always hit garage sales anyway because I'm cheap and can find good stuff for a low price. Bought a old Kenmore square cannister vac for 5 bucks that worked but was pretty beat up. Kept...

    What's your favorite car?

Spread bore carbs The spread bore carbs were developed to help drivability, fuel economy, and emissions. Carter made the Thermo Quad and GM had the Quadra Jet. Very small primaries and huge secondaries. If either is setup properly the car will pull smoother, get a bit better mpg, and emissions...

    Quick pick-up go to vacuum.....

We use a Rowenta 18 volt stick vac that has 2 speeds, a powered brush, and runs about half an hour. Nice for cleaning up after my Parrot and his favorite spots. We also have a Orec xl we were given when he really gets messy but we don't want to break out the Royal 4650.

    What's your favorite car?

First full 90 day water sewer bill here was 306 bucks. Shortly after when I got my first big refund from the interest credit I bought a nice HE top load washer. Now bill is usually around 240-250. Old machine was using about 50 gallons a load, new machine uses about 8 average and is bigger. My...

    What's your favorite car?

Hey, somebody put your steering wheel on the wrong side, you put that back on the left where it belongs ;) Kinda reminds me of Caddy Shack...

Today , I was gifted the newest Hoover ...

Removable battery and a reasonable run time are great points in it's favor. My Rowenta would be a lot easier to deal with if I could swap out batteries easily. Will have to watch for it around here and hope it goes on a good sale. The Rowenta even makes a 24 volt version that is supposed to run...

    What's your favorite car?

Those older cars used simple 1bbl carbs and should have the usual idle mixture screw so if it was running that dirty it needed a tuneup or adjustment. I don't remember my Jeep or Power Wagon ever running so dirty they smelled bad or made my eyes water unless the choke was out when cold. My Jeep...

Today , I was gifted the newest Hoover ...

Bought a Rowenta Delta Force I picked up the above mentioned 18 volt stick vac last year from Woot cheap and we've been very happy with it so far. Has high and low speeds and a brushroll and usually runs at least half an hour before it dies. Great for quick cleaning between major vacuuming...

    New family member

Felix sounds good, used to watch it all the time. There was Top Cat too about that time. I've had just about every critter that walks, flies, or swims at this point but I've had Maxmillion Pionus parrots for about 40 years now, Nerd for 31 years, Lurch for about 6 till we made a dumb mistake and...

Kirby door to door visit here

Well at least his machine was nicer and worked well but might as well buy a slightly used one and let someone else take the beating on a new one. I have at least 5 vacuums here and that guy was driving a van and had at least one guy with him. He said they drove all over the western states...

Kirby door to door visit here

Well accidentally let a Kirby salesman in last week after he promised to be quick. He was a BIG polite guy who told us to go ahead and eat the dinner we were just getting to when he knocked. I ate and watched him pull out and setup a probably brand new Avilar machine. He broke out the main...

    Repair of a Marantz

Finding good gear... There are still some good gear out there. I bought a Onkyo 777 5.1 DTS receiver that ran well and had huge power reserves. It was 105 watts each to all 5 channels and about double that into 4 ohms for a sec. I ran it hard for 15 years and it sounded great just listening to...

    1963 Admiral Color TV Combo

Hoffman One of our friends as kids they had a Hoffman like that. They were called the Easy Vision. The thought was green was better and easier on your eyes. From what I remember the green was pretty striking but other than that it was pretty bright and crisp for a mid fifties set. My first...

    1963 Admiral Color TV Combo

CRT The tube I meant was the CRT. It was like 14" I think and they had major problems getting good ones made, then they would loose their vacuum and go gassy right away. Oldest set I was given was a 49 Hoffman that was like 14" with a ton of big 6 volt radio style tubes driving it. It did...
