    Free Royal Upright today

Well I have many automatic searched set fir things I need or want on Craigslist and eBay. Last night I saw one that basically said Royal commercial vacuum with extra bags and belts and a old CRT HDTV. So I emailed the poster asking how much he wanted for the machine seeing how no price was...

Properly Wrapping Your Kirby Cord Around the Hooks

I wrap the cord around the bell on the back of my Royal 4650 and it appears that is how it was supposed to be done. At work if I'm not in a hurry I do a parachute loop/wrap that if you do it properly you just grab the other end from the start of the wrap and it will pull out nicely plus if you...

    Royal 4650 pigtail

Well, checked in today and no mail yet but it might have gotten thrown in my spam. I broke out the blue 4.3 power team and it works fine except the hose is full of holes so I vacuumed the main living areas with it. A much simpler power head and cord setup for it but it just doesn't groom the...

    Royal 4650 pigtail

More pictures Those are all good suggestions and here some more pictures to help make it easier to see if any of those cords will work. The pics are hard to make out to see what shape they are but one of them would probably work if I just used the plug and not the little housing it snaps into...

    Royal 4650 pigtail

Thanks, I'll hold off on hacking in a different cord then and wait to see what you come up with. I usually use IrfanView and resize all my pics to 800x600 and they upload fine here directly from my computer. Hopefully we can work something out and I don't care what color the cord is as long as...

    Royal 4650 pigtail

No, haven't been looking real hard yet, thinking about seeing if the 413 powertank still works and wondering who else might have used that plug setup. If you have one or can point me where I can get one let me know so contact me. I was thinking about just redoing it with some round droplight...

    Royal 4650 pigtail

Thanks, but that's just two regular ac male power plugs so won't do me any good. Now if I can find a official Royal round 2 pronged male plug with the proper spacing I could just swap the plug and it would work like before.

    Royal 4650 pigtail

Yeah, I think I could use some drop light cord and make something that would work. Not sure if I have any in stock anymore but I'm sure I could dig some up. I could use the stuff from the other one but that would disable it so not going to do it. Haven't used the 413 since I found the 4650 which...

    Royal 4650 pigtail

Well my Starks/Royal 4650 finally destroyed the pigtail that goes into the swivel head thing on the base of the power head. I could probably jury rig something that would work but if anyone has a good one or knows where to get one I'd appreciate it. The old ones done right where the cord...

    Shark NV680UKT

It has a 5 year warranty so as long as they actually stand behind it use it. If they fix or send you a new one and your still disgusted with it sell it off and get something else, good luck.

    Minivans

Well I have a 78 3/4 ton Dodge van I bought off a job site about 08 simply because it was dirt cheap and had a bunch of new or rebuilt parts including tires with 300 miles on them. I also happen to like Mopars and have parts stashed for them like starters alternators and like that. I paid 300...

    Cannister

Royals with a good power head work great and can be found cheap occasionally. I bought a 4650 for 25 bucks with a power cord issue in the hose. It worked fine in blower mode as that bypassed all the variable speed things. I found another good used hose on eBay. I also have a 413 powertank. I...

    Vaccum bags in your machines.

My two main machines have bags in them, my cordless stick vac is bagless so no issues with it for quick touchups. When I got my newest Royal it came with a bunch of oem bags so still working through them. I actually dug one out clean and reused it recently and it seems to work like new but...

I need some washing machine advice

Go to the sister laundry site to here and ask. I got a nice top load Kenmore he machine about 3 years ago that works great but the tub bearings are already bad. Ill throw a new set in as I have all the parts and the tool now to do it. So don't know if I'd recommend it and you want a old school...

    Warning - Craig's list Scam!!!

Yep, when I was trying to sell our old 71 Scamp to pay the taxes owed for buying this house one of the respondents was a scammer using that same sales pitch. He was out of country on business, would send a larger check to cover the car and shipping etc, his syntax was bad and he acted like we...

    Sweet Entertainment Center

One of my first tv's was about a 53 Zenith combo set with a Cobra Matic record player and a AM radio. It was free and I was exstatic to get my own HUGE TV. It had a very dim blury picture and was hard to watch in daylight plus about a quarter of the picture was gone probably due to bad tubes. I...

Keeping parts in stock (overkill maybe?)

Do the same thing with other hobbies I used to hit wrecking yards and swap meets and buy any parts that would fit my Dart or any other Mopar that might be a good upgrade or trade material. I also did the same with TV parts when I used to repair used sets to make extra money. I had parts to...

    Magnavox Console Stereo

I always liked Zenith stuff before I became serious about sound and started buying receivers and components. I did have a HUGE Magnavox 27" b/w TV with a stereo/phono built in. It had huge old fashioned 15" woofers and horn tweeters and sounded pretty nice considering it was probably mid 60s at...

    interesting power team

Price seems fair by today's standards and the few reviews seem positive. I think many of us don't like plastic vacuums but it looks solid enough and if you have the money to take a chance on a possibly good vac go for it.
