texaskirbyguy Rob, Yes, although if I do a break-in of it by running the cleaner for a few minutes, it might fit better? Also, would you happen to have any 159056 belts (which was intended for these older machines) in your current stocks? ~Ben

    Kirby Accessories are kinda weird

AmtrakSebo1997 I do have to agree with you about #3 and #4, except that I want to say the same with regards to both of these about the power cord, because with the long handle you risk breaking the cord hooks at the bottom of the rear insert (for models Classic Omega 1-CB up to the Ultimate G)...

A Tip on Using Kirby 301291 Belts w/Older Machines

For those of you who have to replace an old belt with a new one regarding any Kirby from 1979 on back (this is especially true for those of you who own a machine older than the 516), have you ever tried to soak the knurled belt (301291) into warm water to make it more pliable for these older...

    Kinda trashed Kirby

LesinUtah Les, The date code you see breaks down like this: 4 = plant code (3=Cleveland, OH; 4=Kirby West, Andrews, TX) 88 = year built (1988) 02 = month of year (February) 02611 = sequential serial number So, February 1988 would be the correct date of manufacture, and assembled at Kirby West...

Vintage 1970s Sunbeam Lawn Champ twin blade model RE-199-T corded push mower.

OldCrankman Scott, You are correct that the RE-199T is at least a 1971 model; it replaced the former RE-189T Lawn Champ sold for 1969 and 1970. I think your mower sounded pretty good for being 53 years old! Here's a video of my 1983 Sears Craftsman 914126 (same as the Sunbeam 4318): ~Ben

Early Production Health Mor Sanitation System Vacuum

jmskuban Jay, The very first of these Health-Mor Sanitation Systems were built in 1928 and 1929 by Scott & Fetzer, and were simply Scott & Fetzer Sanitation Systems rebadged with the Health-Mor name. In 1930, Health-Mor (who at the time was the Chicago, IL-based distributor of the Scott &...
