    Testing the waters

Hi Kevin. Yup...that's the "MA". Nice place to visit, but I wouldn't want to live here. Unfortunately...I'm stuck here. I've acquired one metal Electrolux, probably a couple of years ago. It's an Automatic E. It's just the tank itself, and needs a complete restoration. I get what you're saying...

    Here we go again

I'm old school myself, and still use a top load washer. When it's time to replace it, that's what I'm sure I'll buy again. Probably something no newer than late '90s/early 2000s. That's just me. I'll be the first to admit that I don't like change. That being said, I agree that if a company can...

Selling unwanted vacuums. Need to go to new homes🙏

Sorry to hear that you're in kind of the same boat as I am. You're a lot younger though, which somehow makes it seem worse. I wish you luck with your sales. You have some nice machines there. Barry

Actually, it's a sundial! You get the little pointer (which I'm sure has an official name) in the bag with the owner's manual. In the movie, Ralphie always referred to it as the "thing that tells time".

Thanks, Alex. Yeah. I'm kind of alone over here. I'm definitely not looking to get rich off of this stuff. I'll be fair with pricing. I just understand that there's not many other members nearby, and I can't ship. So, this may not end up going anywhere.

That's a shame, Rex. I've heard of people losing very nice and valuable guns in boating accidents too. Very sad.

    iona electric broom Vacuum

That's cool! I like Electrikbrooms for some reason. I have two Reginas, but I've never seen any of the other rebrands in person. I know Sears had one, and some other stores as well.

Yup! I have two or three of the Christmas version, with the "compass in the stock, and the thing that tells time". LOL

I've been tempted by vintage firearms myself. Especially revolvers and old .22 rifles. But, so far, I've limited myself to BB and pellet guns. Some current production, some vintage. My oldest is a late 1940s Daisy Red Ryder. Feel free to post the almost obligatory "Don't shoot your eye out"...

    Electrolux Ambassador 3

I've always liked the 75th Anniversary models. I have an Epic 6500 75th that I curb picked. It was badly abused, and seems to need a new motor. I've had it for years, just sitting there in that condition. Well...I did clean it up cosmetically. The one time that I tried to test it, it just made...

Hey Robin, Thank you. You reminded me of another of my collections; vintage telephones. I don't have a ton, but I like to try to reacquire things that I remember from my youth. I have my grandmother's 1953 (I believe) Western Electric 500. The rest are ones that I got from eBay, Craigslist, and...

    Your thoughts

Rob, I think you're the first person I've encountered who also has a collection of barricade lights! I've actually never replaced a bulb in any of mine. If they had batteries in them and worked when I got them, that was cool. If not, I just added them to the collection to look at. I believe...

    Your thoughts

Jeff, Those all sound really neat. You reminded me that I have quite a collection of records too. I don't have any idea how many. And, I tend to forget about them, because I don't currently have a working turntable. Over the years, it also branched out into cassettes and CDs. I've always loved...

    Your thoughts

Unfortunately, YES! I, too, have too many other collections to name. And, yes...it definitely either borders on, or full on qualifies as hoarding. That's why I just posted in the Super Market, testing the waters on selling some vacuums. To name a few; I also collected diecast vehicles for...

    Testing the waters

Hi all, I find myself in a similar situation as some other members have recently experienced. I'm out of room, and have more vacuums than I can responsibly care for. Realistically, I should be liquidating most of my collection. However, this is very frightening, uncharted territory for me. For...

    Canadian Electrolux AP vacuum cleaner

Not looking to be "that guy". But, just to be fair, the original post did state that the PN was not original.

Happy Friday — Which of your machines have you enjoyed running today?

Dealing with some health issues for a while now. So, I haven't been visiting here much, and I've really struggled to get anything done around the house. The vacuuming has really gotten neglected. But, the last one I pulled out was my freshened-up Bissell PowerForce bagged, 1739. I think I've...

    Electrolux Ambassador 3

Nice! Sounds like you got a good deal! I have an Ambassador III that I picked up off the side of the road several years ago. Mine is from the dark grey era. It cleaned up really nice, and works great, although I don't use it much. Mine is kind of growly on wind down.

A crock pot with a cracked pot

Good deal! Not exactly the outcome you were looking for, but it works. You're certainly not alone. I would consider thrifting exciting, any night or day of the week! I'm off it right now, for the past couple/few months, because I'm beyond out of room for anything else. Very happy for you!

    Vacuum bags find

Good deals, y'all. For some reason, I never see vacuum bags at the thrift stores around here.
