Here we are, my latest acquisition! The Dyson DC35 animal. Was on clearance for £130 plus staff discount. Being an ex demo, I cleaned it all up, the filter wasn't too bad, but the cyclone was full of cack, I could tell by the state of the water! Works amazingly well

Yes it has a square yellow volex plug. It has the rubber sheaf on the cable and the screw/washer as you mention.
