Dyson: Can they really live up to what they say?

"And i forgot to mention one more test: Durability. THis test plays a HUGE rol in vacuums. The Kirby is made of high-grade aluminum. If you kock it into a wall, the wall needs repairing." Well......actually, aluminum shatters. Have you ever seen a Kirby nozzle with one end of it completely...

Oh Dear God, please don't let it be broken...

Charlie, I'm as bummed out as you are that you didn't find your dream waxer. If I ever find one, it's yours. But anyway, just keep lookin'. I've always wanted a Hoover 28 (for years), and finally found a beautiful one in mint condition with the original box and attachments with the caddy, etc...

    Should I buy it?

No, that is in horrible shape. Look at the second picture, the plastic casing is busted up. As mentioned, they're not hard to find. Save your money and you can get a much nicer one for the same price.

    What do you think of.......

Well, well, well child. Let's not get defensive here, don't take it so literally. I wasn't trying to claim that it had the best filtration, so you don't need to argue. The filtration is just as good (if not better) than one of those glorified water fountains. With a Miele, you change the bag on...

    What do you think of.......

I bought my S7 Tango in July 2009, no problems at all. It's still basically brand new, the original bag that it came with from the factory is still in there, and it's not even 1/4 full (part of the problem is there isn't much carpet to clean, I've almost filled up the bag in my S4 with the...

    Kirby Avalier

Actually, you're the one who's dealing out the beef. I could care less, I have better things to do then have grudges with people who I've never met over the internet, which is the only reason why you're dishing the insults. I doubt you would say any of those comments to my face. Now, let's get...

    A variation in GE Model C3 Roll-Around's? --?

I was skimping through the vintage archives and came accross this thread made by Hans when he found a GE C3 Roll-Around. I noticed his has a pink swivel top (Hans, can you tell us if it's plastic or painted metal?). Mine has a shiny chrome-metal top. What's the deal with this??? Hans': Mine:

    When did Kirby

Been there done that...only he did sell me the current model, at least! However, he didn't overcharge me. I think my bill was around $800-900 with the shampooer + zip-brush (and tax). The salesman said I had 3 days to return it. After enough threats he extended the time frame. Returned my "new"...

    Canister. vs. Canister

We all must keep in mind, just because they might be our favorite, doesn't mean they are the best There are a lot of good suggestions in this thread, I'm sure there are plenty more that will get posted later.

    Canister. vs. Canister

Tough choice... There were a lot of good canisters back then. I'd say Electrolux's and Compact's were the more powerful machines.
