I could afford it, I have a ton of good things that I own (Dyson, Apple, Dell, Sony products) it's just that I doubt that ANYONE would actually buy a Lightning that has a broken cordwinder for 500 dollars. Also, you still didn't attach a picture of it, thus, I can't believe that you own it...

Well.... There's a big possibility that the cabling inside was piched and ripped or the motor actually ripped a cable (I've seen it, so I believe it!) Please post pictures of it when you can, I love these but they're getting pretty rare!

thevacuumguy I'm actually talking about the Destiny 3000 which is a Kenmore version of the Fantom Lightning canister. Also, I saw that someone bid on the Kenmore Destiny canister on eBay..... wah.

Zach. I would love to use eBay but at the moment can't because I have no credit card. (Fantomvacuumfan could fill you in) and I've actually begged him to get the Destiny for me becasue I obviously really want it but he said no because I have no money at the moment. I really hope someone doesn't...

This may sound.... crazy but I think it's because companies want people to think that buying bags, belts, etc. is a horrid task and that if they make their packaging look awful to look at and boring, people would than buy a new vacuum.
