    Kirby Heritage with a surprise!

I think the rubber boot looks rather unsightly...

Whats the story on this Kirby?

Go for it! It looks to be a 513 to 515, from 1953 to 1955. It has the original bag and the rare grey cord with red plug ends. Thirty dollars for that is a steal! It will probably need its bearings repacked with white lithium grease. I repacked my 514's bearings and that made it sound almost...

Getting the Kirbys ready for the Convention!

It was temperamental before I took it apart. I was able to perform percussive maintenance on it and got it to work. That didn't help this time.

Getting the Kirbys ready for the Convention!

Diamond headlight For some reason, the Diamond's headlight has quit working. I replaced the light bulb and still nothing. It used to work, but right before I took it apart to polish it, it quit. Any ideas?

    Kirby Heritage with a surprise!

It really does make a huge difference. After taking off the old cracked plastic fan, this metal fan is WAY better. Just think how awesome it would be to have a metal fan with a cloth HEPA bag! That would make for some SERIOUS airflow!

    Kirby Heritage with a surprise!

I got the bright idea to take a metal fan out of a junked 519 and put it in my Heritage. The results were amazing! The new fan added another dimension of awesome deep airflow to the machine.

Getting the Kirbys ready for the Convention!

Got the rest finished. I won't be taking apart and polishing the Omega, 514, or 511. The Omega's shiny enough for me, and I just don't want to mess with the old ones. I would bring my Heritage 84, but it has a pretty serious motor problem. Maybe next year I'll have it done.

Getting the Kirbys ready for the Convention!

I guess I can't complain about the pink bag because I only paid 15 dollars for the Sentria at Goodwill.

Getting the Kirbys ready for the Convention!

I would buy it a new bag, but I don't really feel like shelling out 50 plus dollars for it. Does it look bad? All the machines set aside will be going to Cleveland this summer.

Getting the Kirbys ready for the Convention!

I spent about 5 hours taking apart, cleaning, and polishing my Sentria and Diamond. Later on this week, I'll do my G4, Heritage, Omega, 514, and 511.

    NASTY Kirby G4

You call THAT nasty? When I went to the World's Longest Yardsale last year, I made a Kirby Killing. I got seven, but I only kept three intact. I was almost ready to head home after a fairly good day of scavenging the back roads of Tennessee, when I spot a Kirby G4 on the side of the road. We...

Tech drives I can agree that G5 and G6 drives are whinier than the others.

Last Call on Kirby T-shirts for the convention

Hotel reservations I sent in my convention registration form and the convention fee, but I am worried that I did not reserve a hotel room. Is a hotel room automatically set aside for me, or do I need to contact the Crowne Point Plaza and reserve a room? This is my first convention, and my...

    Current Hand Vacuum Collection

I used to have a 1930's Kenmore Jr. Deluxe, but the motor started arcing really bad. I don't have that one anymore.

    Rainbow D2

D3 motor I wonder how much a D3 motor would cost me? I think it would be a good idea because it would be quieter, and apparently, more powerful.
