Electrolux Olympia One ... 2 Models?

Yet another comment from the lister ... The cleaner was purchased from State Vacuum in Tampa. (Was this an Electrolux branch office as he thinks?)

Electrolux Olympia One ... 2 Models?

Another comment by the eBay lister of the brown Model 1505: "For my own curiosity, I just now went to the machine, opened the door and scratched with a screwdriver the part that bears the 1505 designation number. That plastic is brown all the way through. I also scratched a small area on one...

Electrolux Olympia One ... 2 Models?

From the lister of the brown Model 1505: N35504T - is the serial number - and clue upon clues! there is a sticker that seems to read Olympia One 5 Yr Warranty....

Electrolux Olympia One ... 2 Models?

John & Tom, Thank you for your feedback--much appreciated. I have put in a request to the seller for the serial id and will post it here when I hear back. I am now wondering if the last Olympia Ones were Model 1505s? The lister says that he has worked in the marine industry for years and...

Electrolux Olympia One ... 2 Models?

Thank you, Tom. That would have been my best guess as even the name SILVERado denotes gray or silver--not brown. Short of calling the lister a liar (he seems very genuine--that it was his mom's for decades and was never repainted) I don't quite know how to respond to the fact that it clearly...

Electrolux Olympia One ... 2 Models?

Thanks for the comments, all. No one really mentioned--and I couldn't tell by the grayscale photos--if the first Silverados were brown. To clarify, the photos in reply #9 are for a current eBay listing for a Silverado/1505. The lister says that it has never been repainted, so I'm wondering...

Electrolux Olympia One ... 2 Models?

There is a current listing of a brown Silverado with "Model 1505" on the plastic cover interior. Was this a case of the cover of an Olympia One being replaced with one from a Silverado and being repainted to match Olympia One's colors, or was there actually a brown Silverado manufactured at the...

    Electrolux Vaporizers & Sprayers

Thanks, Jeff. I appreciate knowing your information, too. I didn't realize that there were earlier chrome versions of the vaporizer and sprayer. If you know when they were updated please let me know. Otherwise, maybe someone who has the Model XXX manuals from over the years could chime in...

Another dream kirby 516 thrift shop find!!!

Thanks for the information, Charles. I like how Kirby composed the model #s in part to match the year of manufacture and wish other companies would have done something similar or at least made the serial ids easily decodable. Here is a list of serial codes that someone posted on Vacuumland...

Electrolux XXX Small *Metal* upholstery nozzle & duster? Where to find?!

Good to know, Alex and Ronni--thanks. Now that I think of it I'll bet that the instruction manuals would probably provide information, too; that is if the pics were updated each time a new one was copyrighted. I have seen copyright dates for many years, so I would take for granted that the...

    Cloth Bag Washing?

Please let me know if you have found success using Magic Sizing Spray by Agelong brand or a fabric softener on your cloth bag after washing. It would seem to me that even with no washing the bags pores would clog with all the dust after a while and lessen the suction power.

Another dream kirby 516 thrift shop find!!!

Yeah, Austin, great machine & attachments at a great price! Good thing you asked or someone else may have snatched it before you! All - Are the older Kirby serial #s coded for the year like the DS50 and later models? I know they had a letter code, but the one shown written in the manual in...

    Electrolux USA/Aerus Manual Cover Caboodle

1937, Model XXX (I can't see any cover differences between the 1939 version and this one):

    Electrolux USA/Aerus Manual Cover Caboodle

Here is the 1953 version of the Electrolux Cleaner (Model XXX) Users' Home Maintenance Guide. Unless the scanner's colors were off, it appears that the only cover difference between the two are the black ink on the 1950 manual and the brown ink on the 1953 manual. I find it interesting that...

Electrolux USA Gold Model L Lamp

Ummm, maybe 145 clams isn't so bad compared to 600 for a Model LXI endtable (also on Etsy):

Electrolux USA Gold Model L Lamp

For a mere $145.00 you could be the proud owner of this Electrolux USA Gold Model L Lamp (listed on Etsy.com). You gotta give the person points for creativity, but 145 clams and you can't even clean with it? ... sheeesh!

    Electrolux Vaporizers & Sprayers

These colors of vaporizers and sprayer tops are what I suppose fit with what machines based on what I've seen online and in owner's manuals: Model XXX (1937-48): chrome vaporizer, chrome sprayer top Model XXX (1949-52): gray wrinkle paint vaporizer, brown bakelite sprayer top Model XXX...

    Electrolux CB and CB2000

Oh, thanks, John. I'd heard about a PN-3 before but have never seen one--or at least I don't think I have. I'm wondering if that is the one in Doug's first pic above? What power nozzle model would the aqua and tan CBs used?
