KIRBY SOFT GREY BELTS 500 SERIES

Hey Kirby specialists, I have a bit of a dilemma with belts for my 516 and 519. When I restored these two machines a couple of years ago, I put in the new style brushrollers, and was advised to use the new knurled belts for them. I installed part # 301291. I've never worked harder making the...

    Kirby Omega and bare floors.....

Yes There is a bare floor pad in the Omega box of hose attachments. It clips on the rug nozzle. Turn the belt lifter off. The suction is not as strong as the hose attachment, but it will get the job done.

    Getting a free Kirby tomorrow!

Excellent! The before and after pictures are stunning. Not many brands can be put through that abuse and turn out like this one. Kirby ought to feature this on its website!

Kirby Heritage I Speed Switch Issue

more adjusting Story of the speed switch didn't end with the screw. It seems that the bracket was slightly bent which the single screw secures inside the motor housing. I finally bent the assembly down just a bit, lubricated more, and for now it seems ok. Are these Heritage switches finicky?

Kirby Heritage I Speed Switch Issue

GOT IT! The problem was not with the plastic mounting screws, but rather the single screw that holds the switch in position inside the motor housing. Kirby might well make note of that in the service manual. Works flawlessly now! Thanks for the screwy idea!

Kirby Heritage I Speed Switch Issue

Hey Kirby people: I just reassembled a Heritage I after replacing bearings, etc, only to find that there is friction somewhere in the speed switch. It won't fully release and hangs on in low speed. I replaced the two links with new ones. Same problem. Then I put in a new spring. Same...

Field Thanks, Ben, this is very helpful! The only number I find on the field is what I gave. What would be the best way to find out what models this field can be used for

    classic III question

If it is in great condition - including cosmetics - and they have most all accessories, I don't think $130 is necessarily high.

Packing Box for Classic 1-CR Kirby Handi-Butler

Can anyone tell me how the factory originally packed the Handi-Butlers for the Classic 1-CR and Omega? They have the large grinder wheel that gets clamped to the fan case. Getting that plus the tool box and extension shaft in the same box is a chore, and I often find these boxes torn or...

    Kirby Classic III Belt Lifter

Can someone give me directions on removing the lens from the Classic III beltlifer? I have the beltlifer out of the nozzle and have removed the label and exposed the tension spring holding the lens in position, but this spring is down in a groove and difficult to manipulate. Is the finger and...

    Kirby Shakeout Bag Question

gasket As someone else remarked, double check that the leak is not coming from the bottom of the sani-emptor where the tray meets the metal casting. That felt gasket needs replacing every so often. It's a very easy job and may take care of this issue once and for all.

    Kirby Tile and Grout cleaner

My review I tried the new Tile & grout cleaner two weeks ago. I'm sure that other than a quick mop, this area had never been deep cleaned before. It does look lots better, but I will probably repeat the process to get even more stuff out of the grout lines. I do have several suggestions, and...

    POWER TOOLS FOR WET-SANDING KIRBYS

Appreciated... all of this great advice! A few other follow-ups: I've heard that you have to be careful with aluminum because inhaling the sandings would be bad news for the lungs. Does wet sanding keep that down? If I were to dry sand and wear a face mask, would that be protection enough...
