Not vintage- but will buff and clean sealed hardwood I'm actually picking up one of these myself today- Bissell spinwave. It comes with two sets of pads (soft set for hardwood and other floors and a set with microfiber scrubbers for sticky messes). There is a reservoir for water and your...

Kenmore Crossover Canister is it worth repairing?

UPDATE - I didn't take the Kenmore crossover Thanks for all the input. I passed on this unit. I went to my local riccar dealer and got a Sunburst suction only canister to compliment my Sanitaire S675 (VG1 brushroll and ST bags)

    Kirby theft rings??

So, there was a FB marketplace ad for a $30 Kirby Avalir with attachments. My first instinct was that this was a typo and they meant to make the price $300, so I sent them a message alerting them that they might have a typo in the price. They replied, "Nope. Just don't use it anymore. I work...

Working water lift vacuum test gauge explained.

CRI ratings? - So, I don't own a Kirby. I've used them, but I never managed to buy one. That said, I have noticed that CRI gave the Avalir a gold rating. So, is that to mean that the CRI ratings are wrong, and unreliable? Just honestly curious as I have no ponies in this race so to speak...

Kenmore Crossover Canister is it worth repairing?

A neighbor is selling this canister for $10, and I'm considering picking it up. I could use a nice canister vacuum. The cost of the complete hose assembly is $180. Does anyone know if there is a more cost effective method to repair this besides duct tape??

Thinking of buying a Kirby and conflicted between models

@lesinutah Les, Thanks for offering to help me out, but if and when the right vacuum comes along locally, that will be fine. As you already noted, I do have a decent vacuum already with that Sanitaire S675 (also takes the ST bags). Being that the Kirby factory is in my "hometown" I'm just...

Thinking of buying a Kirby and conflicted between models

Snooze you loose So, I contacted the seller of the avalir again, and while I was hemming and hawing, somebody else bought it. I'll keep an eye out for a nice Sentria, Sentria II or Avalir for a good price in my area. Thanks everyone. - Jenny

Thinking of buying a Kirby and conflicted between models

I do start with the vacuum at the highest setting and lower it, one level at a time, until I hear the tone change. I think the waterproof backing off the LifeProof carpet is making this difficult. If I get a Kirby without the tech drive, I wonder if it has more precise levels of adjustment...

Thinking of buying a Kirby and conflicted between models

I'm intrigued about owning a Kirby because of the quality construction, made in the USA, good at deep cleaning carpet. I found a Kirby Avalir for $100 about an hour or so away. I'm concerned about the weight when it comes to dragging this up and downstairs, and cleaning the carpeted stairs...

Thank you for the helpful information. Does anyone happen to know what type of height adjuster is on this model? Will it have the better brush roll with the stiffeners? Does this unit have a metal fan, and is this a 9 blade fan or_ ? Lastly, will the 7.2 amp motor be a decent quality and will...
